    It is being call branching conversation and this does not seems to be implement in email.

    Email are no longer ( and since very long) a tweet.

    Email need to be recognized as a small or micro project that are interrelated and happening like every 5 minutes. BUT

    Even if this happening every 5 minutes, and email may require you to spend 2-3 hours. By that time you may have receive 20 other mails relate ro not to the one that start your day.

    Microsoft need make some research on this to develop emails tools and workflow that reflect and allow us to manage the information and the data associate.

    Same here, receiving requests by email and being give offline instructions. I need to add those offline instructions to an email conversation to be able to trace back what was resquest and why.......Else we get manager going crazy because they do note remember two three months ago they request the opposite.

    We call this shadow conversation

    Create categories that work in serie to create workflow

    When email gets in, I assign to a category. Once i complete my task, I can then remove the category ( or click an X on the category label) and I will be propose the next category or the category before.

    Example.

    Support-Call =» Support for Word -» how to create paragraph -» complete

    Open emails relate to a conversation inside a tab to isolate from the background noise.

    On the new tab, on the left we will see the email from the conversation display as a folder structure most recent at the top and older at the bottom.

    At any point in time, we can go back to the inbox and select any other email to be associate to the conversation.

    many time subject change within an email exchange between several people. Once we have this conversation save this so we can recall that same conversation of easely link new emails to this conversation

    When viewing emails associate to a category, i cannot sort them by subject.

    Request is to allow sorting email by subject when viewing email associated to a category

    The whole email template need to be review.

    All email template should be organized by theme or something similar.

    At any point in time while writing an email, we should be able to insert a template.

    Example we often send the same instructions but with different info. Like sending instruction to configure a serve.

    We could type @mytemplate and fro there be present de one drive folder where we could pick a template and the content will copy/paste

    OR best, type @mytemplate:templatename and the content of the specific template will be insert

    On the medium density, I would like to see the central section on two line.

    First line the email title
    Seconline the first phrase or any other field we can choose or a concatenation of fields espacially if we have a custom email form with several custom fields

    Request is to have a find folder results that will allow us to scroll to the folder location.

    This will allow us to see the folder in it's context. ( situation awareness)

    Also we should be able to assign custom properties to folder, like description and keywords or any custom fields*

    Note: If folders are to be replaced with Categories, make sure we can create a hierarchy of categories and add description to them.

    Exemple:
    I have three project each identify using a category. For each I have the same sub-categories.

    The only way to know which sub-categories is the one i'm looking for, is either by a description or by knowing one of it's ancestor. Scroll down to the folder will allow me to get that context.

    *Custom fields assign to folder will allow us to write email from a specific folder and push the value of those custom fields inside the email.

    Example a folder with a custom field subject: "meeting regarding XYZ". When writing email from that folder, the subject will automatically be push in the email subject.
    OR
    When we write email from a folder. Email subject will display a drop down list of the most common/popular subjects in that folder + the last 10 most recent subject.

    If user start typing then the list will display any relevant subject from that folder

    When we conduct a search, have a toggle option (On/Off) to display only the select item in the search

    Explanation
    When we have a large amount of items return in the search. The view is clutter and this will allow us to narrow down our search.

    Once we toggle ON to only see mark items in the search list. Allow us to change the column display configuration to display different columns.

    At any point in time we can toggle OFF, select/remove items, toggle ON to get back to the update isolate list

    At the end allow us to edit inline the fields display by the columns. Edit can be done in batch with a simple copy paste

    Also sorting the results by clicking the columns header, using the SHIFT will allow us to sort result by 1st 2nd...3 criteria. This will allow us to regroup item in the isolate list to edit in batch the fields

    Would be nice to have Category organize as a tree so we could organize them by topic and sub-topic.

    Have the Category tree expose to the user to browse for easier navigation
