We’ll send you updates on this idea

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for providing a clear signal that we should improve how we highlight “Today” on the calendar.

We are planning to make this update in Outlook for Office 365 subscribers. We will post a subsequent status update when this is available for you to use in Outlook.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Please do keep making suggestions and voting on others’ suggestions to help us improve the product.

    Thanks,
    Jenn

Keep in mind that this was the normal in the 2010 version of outlook. The calendar had so much more functionality and the customization options were a lot more extensive too. I really do miss the 2010 interface across all Office products. Removing the Today's background highlight of the light yellow was an awful decision, and given the fact that it has already been implemented in previous versions: it shouldn't take this long to 'implement' it....just restore it.

The Rules editor should also have sortable columns. If you are a user who uses Rules to manage mail items, in a short time you end up with a lot of rules. Currently you can't sort the rules by clicking on any of the headers and organizing them is just tedious if not impossible, and makes it very easy to have several duplicates and even conflicting rules. The window needs to be resizable in both directions and the rules really should be sortable by clicking on the headers.

At the minimum: we should be able to hide the search bar in the Quick Access toolbar or resize the width of it.

I whole heartedly agree. The older colorful and descriptive icons were so much more usefule and easy on the eyes, not to mention that you knew exactly what they were going to do because they were more realistic design. This monochrome version I always have to hover first to read what it is supposed to do, and this one color thing across everything does not actually help any of the users. I also don't think that it makes the interface look nicer/better. They have been brainwashing us for years now with this simplified/modernized look-and-feel, but in my experience all that they achieve is hiding functionality completely from the viewport, making finding things and features harder to find (I don't want to have to type in the search bar for everything I want to do...), and we have all this white space/area on the screen with minimum amount of buttons/menus, and now we have to click 4-5 times to do something that used to be a 1 click thing. Who in the world decided that that was a great idea, I don't know....but it is really a shame. Around the 2010 versions of software the user was really the focus, where we could add/remove/customize toolbars, where we could make any program to fit our own individual preference, where things like colors were in my control. Now everything is set to use WHITE/LIGHT GRAY fonts in hidiouos flat and dark backgrounds, which just results in being difficult to read, and god forbid if you need to print anything, especially with BW printers....
