One alternative is to subscribe to iCloud calendar with your Exchange/O365 email accounts or any Outlook account, and then sync the same accounts in Outlook for Mac. See details:

I need to use Outlook for work. I use my own Mac for work. I therefore use Outlook for Mac. It is beyond ridiculous that a version of Outlook specifically designed for the Mac platform does not support iCloud calendar sync. My work calendar is in Outlook. My personal and family calendars are in iCloud. I’d like to see both in the Outlook for Mac calendar rather than having to switch. This should be as straightforward as it is on iOS.

I’d also like to add that the workaround noted on this thread simply does not work for me. Have tried multiple times, but adding a public shared calendar link from iCloud into the Outlook web calendar as per the instructions does not sync at all. The calendars appear in the Outlook list but no calendar entries appear.
