    Hey there!

We highly appreciate your feedback you’ve given us about this feature. Good news: We’re close to releasing it on Android. You can get a sneak preview here: https://blogs.office.com/2017/06/05/improving-people-in-outlook-for-ios-and-android/

Thanks for your patience as we make the final touches!

    All the best
    The Outlook Mobile Team

PS: Please use the Help Section of the app for any questions, we are not able to see replies to this address.

I want to just remove that "people" ion entirely. I dont need a contacts tab that shows my weird phone or skype contacts! Where is the option to disable that tab! and disable calendar, etc!

Since microsoft has refused to removed the contact permissions from such intrusive email app. I just disabled the permssions through android marshmallow. No way I'm letting the app use my phone contact permissions when it doesnt need it.

We need to be able to remove phone contacts from the app. I dont need to see any phone contacts in an email app. why is that permission even in the app? email is not phone calling!

Need to delete my contact list. I dont like my phone contacts in my email app

    Hien Tran commented  ·

When are they going to let us delete phone contacts already? Can anyone at microsoft explain why an email app should even have access to phone contacts? This isnt skype. We dont need phone contacts because we email people, not call them. The permission should be removed as it is an obvious invasion of privacy that extends past any fair design philosophy.

App seriously needs options to edit the people section. Either remove the phone contacts permissions from the app, or let users remove their phone contacts there. It's an email app, not a calling one. There is absolutely ZERO reason why phone contacts should even BE inside this app. Remove it immediately. This is a severe invasion of privacy and extremely dangerous issue especially with the whole FBI vs Apple ordeal. The only save way to protect our contacts privacy and safety is to remove the permission from the app to prevent access. Microsoft should realize this fully.

People section shouldnt have phone contacts. Phone contacts are for calling, not emailing. Give an option to remove them. Also, remove that permission in your app to access phone contacts. It doesnt make sense. This is an email app, not a calling app like skype.

Should have an option to delete our mobile contacts. They are phone contacts, not email contacts. Permissions to even access phone contacts should be removed from the app as it is an inhereit violation of information overreach and privacy.

Let users have the option to sync or unsync phone contacts. Phone contacts dont belong in an email app. People dont email phone numbers!!!

    Hien Tran commented  ·

For months users have been plagued with mot being able to remove their phone contacts from the app. There is no way to delete them and this leaves nothing but a huge spam of unnecessary phone contacts. Why is it mandatory for me to see phone contacts in an email app? I cant email a phone number you know. I should have the ability to turn phone contacts off because they dont belong in an email app anyways!

    Hien Tran commented  ·

Disable/remove Phone Contacts. This is an email client, not a phone app. Its obviously a bug that somehow an email app has access to phone contacts. It doesnt make sense. I can understand phone contacts in skype, but keep this app in the email realm only please. Fix this bug because allowing the app to access contacts is a HUGE security hole that needs immediate patching. How do you even send email to a phone number?!? Does that make any sense? Patch this security hole immediately before its maliciously abused!!!

    Hien Tran commented  ·

Phone contacts should not be in an email app. App permissions to read or access phone contacts should be removed. This is a blatant invasion of privacy for something unrelated. Tell me, how does a phone contact get emails anyways? They don't. I call my phone contacts with my phone, I dont email them. And I email people ysing email addresses, I dont call them. Microsoft, you are treaded on very unreasonable territory here. Remove the phone contact section, and remove tjose app permissions and keep this strictly an email app, nothing more. If you want calls, thats what your skype app is for, not this!

Add option to disable the "People" section of the app
