I gave Focused/Other a chance. The sorting of mail is very helpful. However a couple serious FLAWS in eliminating a clutter SEPARATE folder. New message counts in the navigation pane count new messages even if it is OTHER. Which means you constantly have to go check if a new message is important. Clutter new message counts never made you go look. Another flaw is that if you are not using Outlook app on mobile, your other mail app will not distinguish a split mailbox and ding you on each new incoming message even if OTHER. Very distracting. I have re-enabled clutter in my mail settings. Please don't ever take that option away!!

I HATE the new focused inbox for this reason. The concept of splitting messages into 'read later/non-urgent' messages like newsletters etc is a valid point. But now every time one of these messages comes in, my inbox "UNREAD COUNT" updates all day long for stuff that requires no action. This is a huge time waster. This was a terrible UX decision and needs to be fixed. The clutter separate folder on the previous implementation was better because the main inbox did not count unread messages that required no action. PLEASE FIX FOCUSED INBOX.
