Hey all, thanks for your feedback. We changed the pinned items to occupy less space so that you could still see new messages in your inbox even if you had a lot of pinned items.

We assumed that by pinning the items, you would know what the email was about so you’d need less information on the message.

We’ll track this item and figure out whether we want to change it in the future.

    Colin

All this morning I am trying to find pinned messages that I know who sent. Somehow I feel like their names would be more helpful in identifying the message versus whatever text they may or may not have written in the "subject" bar.

The annoying thing is that the pinned messages still take up space. There is plenty of room in the message bar to write the senders name.

Outlook, when is the last time you got a letter in the mail with no name on it and said "Wow this is so convenient and concise. I'm glad I don't have to see 5-20 extra letters because it doesn't really matter who sent this."

Messages from my boss are much more important than messages from other people. I want to see the name of the sender of every message -- Yes, even the most important messages in my inbox. Even those ones. Thanks.

This change makes me wary of using Microsoft features. You start using a feature all the time because it is really helpful, then one day it breaks permanently due to an "upgrade".

Outlook: "Pinned messages are often the most important messages, which you don't want to forget about. Therefore, let's make them show less information and make them harder to identify."
