Just adding to this to say 2FA / MFA support in outlook is terrible.
When enabling it you have no idea of the behaviour that will follow.
Sometime MFA kicks in, sometimes you need to use app password.
Sometimes you need to clear credentials, sometimes it just flat out breaks and you have to ditch the profile and start again.
It's ain't no google apps experience to say the least.
Guess everyone's gone then.
Welcome to never never land where Idea's come to die, despite already existing in the previously scrapped version of the product (OWA).
Why is this still not done and why are we still waiting on any updates.
It's nearly 4 freaking years this has been waiting on some action from MS and its still not done.
I'm not one for knee jerk reaction but after 4 years I think that should be justification for someone being sacked over this.
Oh look this still isn't implimented
Well today's the day OWA get disabled (mines now been turned off) and don't have a solution to shared mailboxes thats is comparable to the OWA solution, so for anyone using 365 may I suggest you submit a ticket via the admin portal to support.
If they get 3000+ messages maybe they will reconsider if going full ****** was a good idea and then reinstating the OWA application at least until they add shared mailbox support to outlook as this is just a total f-up.
Already had half a dozen support request raised saying what do we do? as the solutions you provided last month don;t work very well for us.
2 years working on it..
Think that says a lot about MS.
This is almost as bad as the missing support for shared mailboxes..
13k+ votes, 1700+ comments and no action or update.
That's how you know MS cares about you!
OWA is going,
Why do we use OWA? shared mailboxes.
Why is it a problem to use outlook because after nearly 4 years we still don't have shared mailbox support and you are removing the only alternative way to access them without having to use a web browser that is not an alternative but a downgrade...
@Outlook Customer Manager
Is it though?
Top voted item by someway is add it to e3, I've tested it with e3 works as well as OCM work with BizP generally and yet a year on and its still not been added, I tested it with a trial BizP licence and just selected the OCM and it worked fine..
So how is this an active project?
Well you can't, there is literally no reason it won't work..
Just add a month trial of Business premium to your account.
Assign users just the contact manager licence along side your normal E3 and it will work fine... for a month till the trial runs out.
Or just buy some BP licences and then you can use it with the details as above..
MS just wants your money they don't actually care about you or the outcome of doing business with you..
for more info on MS not giving to s$$ts about customers..
We are exploring technical feasibility to bring it to E3 and E5 as soon as possible. Please continue voting.
Well we ran this for a month as a trial along side e3 licencing without any issues.
So there is no reason I can find why this can't be added to e3 so that says to me that MS just don't care about customers.
Who would have thought that?!
Just FYI, the 25 user business premium trial can be applied with just outlook contact manager selected and works with your existing E3/E5 if anyone want to have a play for a month..
I know I am :)
Just another Partner here saying pull your finger out please MS we have customers looking at this product and we cannot test or support them with it until we've got access to it.
Just came across this looking for an answer as to why this wasn't working in 2013, flashkude seems to suggest this feature was part of 2013 however my research appears to suggest this was removed some time after outlook 2003 at least the partial search I was looking at. to increase the speed of the search.
Guess I'll be adding this to the growing list of this that are broken or removed in MS products in place of stupid apps and junk in windows.
Does MS realise that powerusers who use are the few that use all these features are the one quite often who have purchasing decision at the companies they work for?
TBH I'd love to see MS take there own advice on this, I can't see many people using edge or the store so why don't they start by removing those and actually leaving the rest of us with features that we actually want and use?
