Every year I come back and test Outlook to see if this simple feature has been introduced and I’m always disappointed.
When you delete or sort and email it should load and view the next or previous email in that inbox.
Every single time I delete an email it takes me back out to the inbox view and I need to work out where I was up to, read another email and after that delete that I go through the whole process again.
Every email program on iOS supports this except Outlook.
So once again I’ll be deleting Outlook and going back to Spark until it’s resolved.
When deleting an email Outlook needs to have a setting that allows you to go to the next or previous email just like the desktop app does.
Right now deleting an email takes you back to the inbox and you have to remember where you were and tap another email to read it. This ruins the flow and continuity of reading emails.
It's one of the features that makes Apple's built in iOS email app so nice to use and yet it's a feature that continues to elude the Outlook app. (i check each update to see if it's been introduced)
So simple but would change everything for this app.
Landscape mode is an important feature on smart phone mail applications, as you need it to be able to read certain emails where the text is small and does not scale well in portrait mode.
Unfortunately in Outlook on iOS, landscape mode leaves you with a folder list of mail on the left hand side of the screen you cannot move, nor can you make the email full screen.
This renders Landscape mode pointless and means I have to go back to using Apple's iOS mail App which does this perfectly.
It makes no sense reading 1/2 your emails in another app so I'll have to leave Outlook until this is addressed.
