    This feature exists already. Open the email thread in full screen. Message ribbon tab, Respond section, "Meeting". It creates a new meeting with everyone in the email, keeps the subject, and keeps the entire thread of emails as content in the meeting.

    I completely agree - the historical data loss is awful. Additionally, there's no way to end an infinitely recurring series without losing the individually modified events that have already happened.
