The new Outlook's Message List pane uses slightly larger fonts and much larger top/bottom margins compared with the old Outlook, even when using the setting for the smallest font size. If I want wide spacing I can just use Gmail-- if I am using a local native app I expect it to make more productive use of space.

Please restore the font sizes and spacing of the old version (or ideally make it even more compact than the old one!) because then I'll be able to see 1-2 more messages without scrolling.

It's possible that the extra spacing is due to message preview (that can't be disabled yet in the new version) so if the new Outlook will have a space-efficient mode when message preview is turned off, that's great.

FWIW, I only use this feature to remove background colors and pictures that people foolishly add to their emails. If you do work to bring this back, could you also add a "remove background" button to make this annoying task easier?

I should also be able to CMD+C on a file in Finder and paste it into an email. Currently pasting a file copied in Finder will paste a large picture of the file into the email body (useless!) instead of adding an attachment to the email like in Windows Outlook.

I would not recommend this change. I worked at a company which required all meetings to have an end date. What would happen is inevitably that the organizer would forget to renew the meeting until it expired. By that time, attendees will have already booked the now-empty space in their calendars, conference rooms are booked, etc. Re-establishing the recurring meeting was very hard and wasted a lot of peoples' time. I'd have to put reminders in my calendar simply to remind myself to re-create the meeting. It was a mess.

Instead, how about outlook just notify the organizer of recurring meetings periodically, e.g. "Are you still having this recurring meeting? If not, end it." with a one-click way to end the recurrence.
