So Hotmail, how about phone support--seems like a lot of us want it. And if/when you provide it, how will we know? Will you send out a blanket notice with the number and how to access it?
First, I am grateful that a couple of issues that could not have been resolved with a screen shot or online chat, were quickly resolved when the support rep phoned me. It is so much quicker that way. Thank you for that.
Second, I would like the opportunity to reach a support rep by phoning Microsoft for email support, any time I need to--that option exists for other Microsoft products, but doesn't appear to be readily available for Hotmail/Outlook. In the past, that was what I was told when calling.
A year ago, I could not access my email, because someone had apparently used my email address. I was told to change my password, but Hotmail would not accept any of my attempts to do that. I couldn't even get help online, because it asks for your password, and I had already tried to change it, so the old one wouldn't work anymore. I had to call Microsoft, and fortunately, reached someone on the phone who went through some series of steps to get me back in. But last I heard, this is the exception--normally you can't get telephone support by calling Microsoft. I have Hotmail Plus, meaning my account isn't free--I pay a small yearly fee. If nothing else, those of us who pay for our accounts, should be able to access free phone support for Hotmail/Outlook whenever we need it. Five minutes of screen sharing with a support person is so much easier than emailing a request, waiting for a response, responding to the response, waiting for a reply, etc.
Please make free phone support more readily available.
Please do this ASAP. In the past few weeks my daily junk mail has more than tripled.
We need a simple way to block senders, domains, IP addresses. The amount of spam I have been getting each day for the past few weeks has more than tripled
