    ruhlevl commented  ·

Block should mean Block and Delete should mean delete. Same with report as phishing! LET US BLOCK FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK MAIL!!!!! right now I have a junk mail for local F'ing. deleted one for Po*n a little whle ago. I WOULD HATE FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD TO OPEN THESE BY ACCIDENT!!!!!! ()&^^)&^(* Do you read the thousands of complaints about the lack of blocking? What you call blocking now is delete only. NOTHING IS BLOCKED EVER FROM GOING INTO JUNK MAIL. You are a fool if you think I am going to leave thousands of smutty phishing, scam emails to slowly delete after 30 days. CAN YOU DO SOMETHING???

Why is blocking spam made difficult?

Hey! You can right click on an email and “Mark as Junk” to mark an item as spam.

If you think an email is a phishing attack, you can open the email and click on the … next to the reply actions in the top right corner. There, you can click “Mark as Phishing”.

    Hope this helps!

YOU JUST COMPLETED AND CLOSED AN ONGOING ISSUE.
WE DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM MARKING THINGS AS JUNK.
WE HAVE A PROBLEM BLOCKING EMAILS AND THEIR DOMAINS FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK EMAIL.
YOU DO NOT GET THIS CONCEPT. BLOCKING JUNK EMAILS FROM FILLING UP OUR JUNK FOLDERS WITH LOAN PHISHING OR KEEPING A FRICKING ERECTION OR HOT BABES OR NAIL FUNGUS.
BLOCK THIS FROM GOOING INTO OUR JUNK FOLDERS WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE THIS ****. DO YOU GET IT?????
I CANNOT CAP ANY LOUDER OR I WOULD HAHAHA

    ruhlevl commented  ·

5 out of 10 junk emails (I will get much more) Have sendlimits.xyz as their domain.
TOO FREAKING BAD WE CAN NOT BLOCK DOMAINS FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK MAIL ANYMORE.
do you ever plan on fixing this? I am beginning to think maybe outlook gets a kickback on all of the scam and spam.

    ruhlevl commented  ·

I would like the ability to block emails from going into my Junk mail.
I would like the ability to block subject phrases. Today 6 emails almost identical in content. Email domains were different but in caps so I know they originated from the same place. We get junk mail in the multiples and would love to REALLY BLOCK THEM.
So far the outlook team is incapable of allowing us to block ANYTHING from going into our JUNK FOLDERS.
    Why is that?

    ruhlevl commented  ·

Will you ever have a working filtering system that allows us to block emails domains, sub domains and subjects (like *** help, nail fungus etc.) FROM GOING INTO JUNK EMAIL??? Big deal we can block from going into inbox only. Our junk email is outta control...literally! PLEASE get a new filtering system! The one you have is worthless. Allow us to do the filtering by Blocking. We know what we want blocked! Hello how many emails about nail fungus and prostrate getting you hard emails does a person need in one day. These emails come from just a few sub-domains and subjects. We could pretty much eliminate this JUNK.

NO YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT ENTIRELY!!!!!!
MY POINT IS THE BLOCK FUNCTION ONLY BLOCKS FROM GOING INTO INBOX AND SENDS EVERYTHING TO OUR JUNK FOLDER. MYSELF AND ALL THE OTHERS WANT TO BLOCK DOMAINS, AND SUBDOMAINS FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK FOLDERS!!!! I JUST VERIFIED THIS AGAIN. THAIS IS HOW IT IS WORDED WHEN GOING TO BLOCK SENDER LIST:

    BLOCKED SENDER AND DOMAINS
MOVE EMAIL FROM THESE SENDERS OR DOMAINS TO MY JUNK EMAIL FOLDER.

WE ARE TRYING TO ELIMINATE ALL THIS PHISHING AND SPAM FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK FOLDER!!!!
SO YOU HAVE MISSED THE POINT ENTIRELY!

Thanks for using Outlook.com and for providing all of this great feedback! I just wanted to let you know and that we have reviewed the block functionality.

I followed all of the steps in the main post, and sub posts and have been able to verify blocking is working. If you are still having issues with it please feel free to open up a new topic.

To block an email you can select it and from the menu click the arrow down next to Junk. From there you can select block. It will pop up a screen to verify.

Once you click yes, you can verify that the account was added by going into Settings (gear in the top right) and searching for block.

    hope this helps!

Block does not mean Block. All it does is send it to your Junk folder. Look at the description/directions/rules of Block. It does not block anything. Only Deletes! Will automatically be deleted from your junk mail in 30 days.
Like I will let thousands of ****, spam, phishing, spoofing, junk emails sit in my junk folder. NOPE.
Another feedback thread with same concerns are being ignored as well.
The amount of Junk mail has doubled lately most of mine come from "support(varies).de I open my computer with 70 + in my junk folder and before I can delete them I am getting more. They are coming non stop. And Outlook does NOTHING!
And yes we have to go through and mark some as not junk, some our spoofed and will not be removed when blocked or reported as phishing.
The POR* has gotten obscene with graphic descriptions. I would hate to have my 6 year old accidentally open one of them. These hook up with real people could be human trafficking??? I would love to be able to report them.
Look at all of the comments and votes!
All of these await a moderator approval. Maybe they should scrutinize the junk mail instead.

    ruhlevl commented  ·

Block from junk folder I know really means delete but now it will not "perform that function". So I am marking as phishing to get the bulk **** and other scams to delete. OUTLOOK GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!! LET US REALLY BLOCK ALL THIS JUNK FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK FOLDER.

Outlook stopped allowing us to Block anything from going into our junk mail. If you look into it all it says is these will be blocked from your inbox and go straight to Junk. Hotmail used to allow us to block emails and domains from going into junk. Outlook has gotten thousands of complaints and suggestions and they do not care. They have given me many excuses. Nothing gets done, people are leaving. They must be profiting from the junk mail we get. I can not think of any other reason why they have been so inept and unwilling at solving this problem.

As of this comment there are 749 comments with 1632 votes. Another similar thread concerning the huge amount of spam, junk, phishing, por*, spoofing. has just as much. Many good suggestions have been given ALL are frustrated!
    Outlook/hotmail/microsoft is doing nothing.
Block really means delete. Send it all to junk folder. Look at the definition of Block....It is block from inbox and send to Junk.
Where it will automatically be deleted after 30 days. Hmmmm There is NO WAY I would leave thousands of emails in my junk folder to slowly be deleted.
The **** (Outlook will probably * it out) has gotten more obscene and descriptive. F word used doing things with various body parts. I would hate for my 6 year old to open up one of these nasty emails. I think there should be another place to report these emails to hook up with people for ***. How about a *** trafficking hotline???
In the last week or so the Junk has doubled. I open my computer and have over 70 every morning. More come before I can delete those 70. And continue throughout the day. Most of the emails I have been receiving are from "support(varies).de" apparently de is from Germany.
For months I have complained, suggested, blocked, reported as phishing and abuse, given feedback, commented, voted, and emailed Outlook.
    *Crickets...
Gee it is almost as if they do not care :)
Worse I believe they may be profiting from this garbage.
What gets me is they have the time to put our comments under review! Wow why don't they review the JUNK MAIL instead???Just a thought! And I put my email address down here and my junk mail might double again.
Never-mind It does not seem to be accepting my email address as being valid.
Wow the incompetence is great with Outlook.

    ruhlevl commented  ·

At this moment 305 votes and 224 comments. This is how many Outlook is ignoring.
Does anyone else get annoyed at the fact you have to find your issue and vote on it and then open it up and find your vote was not counted? Or it has been merged or marked as complete??? This is just trying to look like an isolated issue I am sure.
And comments approved by a moderator???
Maybe if Outlook spent as much time moderating the Junk mail we would not be having these issues.
I am with y'all that Outlook has to be in on this, making money somehow with the spam, phishing, subscribing, ****, scams.
Maybe they are running one of the many **** sites??? (We should be able to report these separately as possibly human trafficking!!! So outlook has one more thing to ignore.) Makes me want to throw up!!!
Seriously how else can you explain it??? I do not believe them to be a conspiracy theory anymore. There is no logical explanation for the inept, ignoring of all of our complaints. The inability to block anything from our junk folders. The pre-scripted empty excuses and vague answers when they do choose to respond. I have had responses saying it works fine Seriously they did not even have a clue. I make it clear I am talking about the JUNK FOLDER not inbox. Or mark as complete. I have posted responses on this site to prove. Do not know if they are taken down because of this convoluted way of communication.
How else can you explain it???
    Moderate this Outlook!!!

    ruhlevl commented  ·

I have shared my opinion on a regular basis on multiple areas of outlook and voted in your game show style communications as well. Now there is an escalation team??? Seriously?!? Way to pass the buck. If you would spend as much time moderating the Junk mail as you do your customer comments maybe we could get rid of some of this junk. For months now all I hear is we can't, No option to stop completely. Or we might have done something that may help in some situations. Or our filtering system can't do that.

I do not expect completely, I know they change their email address often. But again You are not allowing us to block anything as in ZERO from going into our junk mail. Allow Us to filter. Why is it Outlook cannot do this when other companies can? Hotmail would let us permanently Block addresses and domains from going into our JUNK MAIL. And then outlook took over and took that option away! WHY??? It helped some. The technology is there Outlook needs to step up your game. And actually try to do something. ANYTHING is better then nothing!

I suggest a way to BLOCK from Inbox and JUNK permanently, sub-domains and subject buzz words.

As soon as I find the time to reach all my contacts I will switch over to gmail because this is ridiculous!
Bye, I will not be recommending Outlook to anyone.

    ruhlevl commented  ·

And BTW why don't you moderate the JUNK mail instead of your frustrated customers???

    ruhlevl commented  ·

OUTLOOK ARE YOU READING THESE COMMENTS?
What happened to making our experience more positive?
I have reported to abuse, phishing, outlook support, block, voted on your stupid contest way of communications, gave you plenty of feedback on this subject. For months now. All about the inability to control what comes into our JUNK FOLDERS.
Hotmail at least allowed us to block domains and addresses from our JUNK.
Outlook however is incapable/unwilling to do even that.
Your filtering system that you rely on to determine what is spam or phishing is JUNK. I can tell you at a glance. When we click on block or phishing that is all the info you need to know.
If we could block emails by subject and sub-domains, we could eliminate most all of our junk. And if you should be able to pick up on the spam with all the emojis and addresses that do not match the subject. We could cut back 95%.
But YOU ARE NOT EVEN TRYING ARE YOU?????
Do you want customers or are you trying to boost gmail customers?
If I put my email address below are you going to sell it to spammers and I get even more JUNK?

    ruhlevl commented  ·

OUTLOOK DOES NOT LET US BLOCK ANYTHING FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK MAIL. WONT EVEN TRY AFTER OUR MANY COMPLAINTS AND SUGGESTIONS. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING. AND ALL I HEAR HEAR OUTLOOK IS IT IS COMPLETED, MERGED OR WE HAVE MAID SOME CHANGES THAT MAY HELP IN SOME CASES...REALLY WHAT KIND OF AN ANSWER IS THAT.
THEY HAVE NOT IMPROVED ANYTHING FROM OUR SUGGESTIONS, IT DOES NOT APPEAR THEY PLAN TO EITHER.
I HAVE ASKED TO BE ABLE TO BLOCK ADDRESS, DOMAINS, SUB DOMAINS AND SUBJECTS. ALL I HEAR IS EXCUSES IF ANYTHING. LOOK BELOW AT ALL THE COMMENTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES.
NOW I CANNOT SEE WHO THE EMAIL IS COMING FROM UNLESS I OPEN IT. CANNOT GET AN ADDRESS TO KNOW IT IS FROM THE SAME PLACE THAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO BLOCK OR REPORT FOR MONTHS REPEATEDLY OR SOMEONE NEW. OR SOMETHING SAFE.

We cannot "block" anything from appearing in our junk mail. We cannot block whole email addresses or domains. Like we used to with Hotmail.
I have been asking for the ability to block (really block those again) , plus sub domains (certain portion of domain) and I also want to block subjects like Rock Hard. Warranties, Loans etc.
Also if the address or subject has emojis, or does not match like Amazon with an address of xyzagilisaurus.site.
I feel this should be dead giveaways they are scams, but when in doubt we should be able to click on block and actually BLOCK THEM from going to our inbox AND MOST IMPORTANTLY OUR OVERCROWDED JUNK EMAIL....
I have gotten nowhere with OUTLOOK SUPPORT. They either can't or won't help.
I should leave Outlook if it was not going to be such a pain in the butt. They are not trying to fix this problem for whatever reason I do not know. Sheesh look at all of the similar complaints. Yes they combine or say they complete to make it look less of an issue then it already is. But we are not fooled.
Outlook does not value us as customers or they would fix the problem and not make us sign in and get approval to give some feedback to be voted on!

Because you do not answer me. Block the **** we block from going into our junk email. Let us FILTER IT! Our blocking a bazillion times should tell you that WE WANT IT GONE.... I WANT TO PERMANENTLY BLOCK THIS SPAM, PHISHING, **** GARBAGE FROM APPEARING IN MY JUNK FOLDER . IT HAS DOUBLED GET A DOZEN OF THE SAME EMAIL FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES AT THE SAME TIME!!!! I HAVE TO OPEN IT TO SEND IT TO YOU AS ABUSE.

All the block list does is send to our Junk mail. If that. We cannot Block ANYTHING form going into our JUNK FOLDER despite the constant requests.

    ruhlevl commented  ·

We cannot block anything from going into our Junk email. I have been asking to block sub domains (suffix), I have also heard them called wildcards? Not sure of the correct name but reference the same.
Subjects or key words in subjects. (Those same emails that come from multiple sources.)
Now I am getting what I think to be spoofed emails I cannot read the return address or report without opening the email. Why are these even going through to my junk folder?
If it goes to Junk is known Junk, Phishing, Spoofing, **** why can't they block it? When we click on Block we are giving them our permission to do just that. Block does not mean a thing!
I hear back that they are doing something, should get better, might see help. Ruined the integrity blah blah blah. Outlook /Microsoft has done NOTHING. They rely on their inept filtering system to figure out what we have been telling them we want blocked. I am tired of the brush off, and the lies I have been getting. Just look at the amount of feedback concerning Spam/Junk email. It is up in the thousands.
We get to vote on it. Yay that is seriously an insult!
We hear crickets or lies from Microsoft/Outlook.

Yes we should be able to block sub domains is what I call them. at least half of my junk mail comes from galsia.host and the rest another 2 or 3.
We should be able to block certain subject phrases also. I currently am getting many on nail fungus, keto, CBD products. Next week it maybe flashlights, hot babes and loans.
When we block it should be from Junk mail not just send them from inbox to junk.

Get a new spam filter!!!! One that will let us block JUNK not just move it from inbox to junk. (you can not evenget that right). One that will let us block spam by subject matter (like I need 4 emails a day on nail fungus or Keto diet or many I report as phishing (taking out a loan or insurance).
Also Block domains and sub domains like galsia.host.
