  1. Make it possible to create local folders "on my computer" to save email to. Previous versions allowed this.

In the current version of Outlook for Mac, users can create folders "on my computer" to organise/drag/drop specific emails into. This functionality is not currently working in New Outlook for Mac.

  2. Allow Embedded Outlook Messages (.msg files) to be opened in Outlook for Mac.

Allow Embedded Outlook Messages (.msg files) to be opened in Outlook for Mac. Colleagues regularly forward embedded emails that I can't open

  3. Be able to sort emails by Category

I normally sort my folders by category, and the new outlook has no accommodation for this.

  4. Implement web's reading pane

Outlook for Web condenses the conversation nicely; expanding only the most recent message and giving a preview of the others. You can then expand each previous message separately if you need more context.

I LOVE the Outlook web app and want it as a native macOS app.

  5. Add custom keyboard shortcuts

The ability to customise or use other keyboard shortcut schemes (e.g. Gmail) on the web app makes it 2x faster to process email. Please bring it to the desktop app!

  6. Bring back the checkmark option when flagging an email.

The checkmark is important. It gives me some small joy and semblance of accomplishment. Without the checkmark my inbox is just a continuously growing list of questions, tasks and requests that will never appear to be completed. It will just continue to grow and grow and grow. It's the thing of nightmares and panic attacks. Please, let me have my little checkmark.

  7. Allow editing alarms in drop down menu

When in either calendar or list mode, you should be able to edit the alarm setting in the drop down menu. Currrently, you have to double click to open the calendar item, adjust the alarm setting in the pop-up box, and then close it. Three clicks where 1 would be much better

  8. Reduce font size in the Inbox view

The font size is too large proportionally to all other fonts in the UI.

Adjusting the existing font size setting applies globally and does not address the proportion issue, making the other UI fonts (which are great at the default size) too small.

Coupled with the inability to hide message preview text, the current size notably limits the # of items that can be viewed.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  9. Notification for Replying to latest email on the thread.

Notification for Replying to latest email on the thread. Like outlook on Windows, we should get notification while replying to email thread about lastest email. The outlook on Windows does very well and very helpful feature.

  10. my computer

Restore support for My Computer information! I was notified today that it would no longer be displayed, and the Preferences have been changed to always hide it. This is not acceptable. I archive information off the Exchange server when it gets too large or old but need to retain it.

  11. Signature Cloud settings

This was recently announced for Outlook for Windows in the M365 Roadmap: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Outlook%2CWindows%20Desktop

It makes a lot of sense to extend this support to Outlook for Mac as well so that the signatures are stored in the user's mailbox.

  12. Stop making changes! v16.38 stopped working with my All Accounts. This is becoming more annoying as time goes on.

Used to be able to see all mail accounts in ALL ACCOUNTS folder. Now it shows some not all. Really irritating.

  13. Search Sent folder for "To:" addresses, not "From:"

When I'm searching sent mail, I NEVER need to search on the From: message, and am ALWAYS looking for a message I sent to someone. I'm sure there are exceptions to that for some people and accounts, but in general, that would be the intelligent field to be searching for when in the Sent folder.

  14. Allow users to disable External Recipient MailTip

The newly added External Recipient MailTip is fine for those who feel it adds value, but is an unnecessary waste of real estate and can frustrate users who generally mail external recipients and therefore don't need this warning.

If it can't be removed, then please at least allow users to disable it.

  15. Teams option for meetings

Currently it seems that only O365 customers can see a Teams toggle in Outlook for Mac while every customer on Windows can see that toggle.
Please enable the option to use Teams for a meeting in the Outlook calendar for all customers (on-premise etc.) on Mac (tested with "New Outlook for Mac 16.39 insider build and Teams 1.3.00.9271).

  16. Access folders with the left sidebar collapsed

I like having the left sidebar collapsed as it reduces wasted screen real estate. However, I occasionally need to access other folders like Sent, Archived, etc which means I have to collapse and expand this sidebar every time to see those items. It would be great to have another method of switching folders while keeping this sidebar collapsed.

Note: this should also apply to calendars, people, notes, and tasks.

  17. End meetings early (25m / 50m)

Add support to end appointments & meetings early (25m / 50m) so you have time to prepare for the next meeting. Already supported by Outlook for Windows: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/schedule-a-meeting-with-other-people-5c9877bc-ab91-4a7c-99fb-b0b68d7ea94f

  18. Unified inbox as default launching view

We know that the unified inbox is coming back but it's really important that we can set it as the default view when Outlook in launching.

This feature is really simple but very important. It was missing from the last Outlook on Mac.

    Please. Add it.

  19. Inline images size

Receiving inline images from other users/mail clients on Mac are kinda enormous. They should be resized based on my message window width and be responsive.

Especially when the sender is not resizing them I always have to scroll left/right up/down to see what they want.

The alternative is save them locally which is sometimes a time sink.

    Outlook’s web version does it.

  20. Include archive, delete, and flag buttons in mail notifications

When the notification window is displayed for new incoming email, please include buttons to quickly archive, delete, or flag the new incoming email without having to go to the main outlook window. It would be nice to be able to quickly delete incoming email if we don't want to read it, right from the notification display.
