smaller font size
Fonts need to be smaller . compared to MAC mail the mail list is huge. it looks very old school when compared to newer mail clients . looks terrible on high resolution screens . Can we have ability to reduce font of application and lists further still

Not only are the inbox fonts huge, the bold text makes the e-mails appear as if they're unread. It's everything really confusing

I can't upvote this enough. At a minimum, I'd like to see one more level of 'smaller' where the font used in the mail list is the same as the folder-level items in the left panel. The current inbox list (in compact density) looks like group headers rather than line items to me. It also seems like a bolded font - though that might just be a function of its size.
An outside possibility... even if not exposed in the UI, how about some config type files or css? I wouldn't mind at all editing a css to tweak font names & point size, padding, spacing, etc. -

Agree with these comments. A 'zoom' level slider making the fonts or their display smaller. When in home office, I use a big monitor - when traveling I just use the Macbook's screen. Being able to adjust helps as even when at home I sometimes use different screen resolutions depending on the task - sometimes I'll use different resolutions for webinars, recordings. Since Outlook is perhaps the most consistently in use app, this would really help.

I don't think it's just a case of font size - it's a case of the space between the folder/mailboxes in the side bar being too great - the space between folder titles needs to compress a bit (as you can do in the email list to make them more compact). I think also making the sender's name smaller in email list would help - why so big? I think looking at the Mac Mail client is a good starting point...

Completely agree with all these comments. Just switched to new look now and the larger fonts are very annoying - this primarily relates to the 'Subject' and 'Sent/Received From' text in the messages list column. There really needs to be the ability to customize the font size to suit different people's needs. Sadly I'm switching back to the older version until resolved.

EVERYTHING is too big! The left vertical pane is massive and can't be minimized, it's such a waste of valuable screen space. especially on a small laptop (MacBook Pro)

Completely agree! The font size of the text in the Mail list (especially when the reading pane = Show to right) is too large and in the face. Setting the Font size to smaller in the preferences, make the text size of the email in the reading pane so tiny that magnifying lens is needed to read :-). Please make this better.

Just switched to the new outlook. Inbox fonts are huge. I'm fine with font size in messages but the inbox contacts and subjects are screaming on the side. It feels like a wall of distracting banner ads.
Switching back to the old outlook for now but really liked the feel of everything else on it.

Agree - similar to when you use MS Edge, it would be good to "zoom out" so that it makes the boxes smaller - particularly obvious on small screens (13 inch etc.)
