Add back support for any IMAP Account
As of the June 8, 2020 release you only support Microsoft and Google mail accounts. Seriously? Please add back support for any standard IMAP account. This change makes this Mac version pretty much useless if you don't have one of those mail accounts.

The Irony is striking: that outlook for Mac, the new and improved version, does not support Apple email but all of the prior versions of Outlook for Mac do. WTF? Its Outlook for Mac, not Google. When I first switched to all Mac from the PC world, I tried not using outlook as I wanted to only use native applications. Well, the Apple apps are not very good for business. So I tried outlook for Mac years ago, and it sucked. Now I have the latest (but not the new) version, And I'm happy to see that MS cleaned up a lot of the problems. It's great to see you still making products for Mac. Please add Apple Mail and iCloud support. In the meanwhile, I would love to know what you guys were thinking by not including that. Cheers!

It makes no sense to not support IMAP/POP3 if you are serious about this being a business tool. Four of the five email addresses I run through Outlook will not be supported if I switch to the 'New' version. These are unlikely to ever change. I would have to abandon Outlook in order to run my business.

Most all comments to date are right on. If Outlook Mac (and consequently Office 365 for Mac) intends to be a useful business and personal tool it must support IMAP accounts. In addition, the "New Outlook Mac" does not support the "On My Computer" storage and organizing of Outlook emails. This is similar to the ".PST" files from Windows versions and is absolutely critical to users of Outlook Mac. Please retain this feature in New Outlook and design it to support IMAP accounts. Thanks.

Cari amici del team di sviluppo, spero che MS Outlook possa crescere ancora e implementare presto account come quelli che occorrono a me (Legalmail.it - mypec.eu ecc. ecc.)… Per il momento tornerò alla versione classica. Ciao - Luciano

Please! It makes no sense to loose access to email and work just because my pc is a MAC. Be swift. We need this urgently. IMAP accounts on the new outlook for mac.

I was fairly surprised to be informed that IMAP won't be supported anymore.
This doesn't really make any sense for me, since especially your European Users heavily depend on these kinds of third-party providers... -

Ignorance and arrogance - it cannot be described otherwise to exclude other mail services and disabling local folders. If this is not reversed, I will change to another e-mail program and I will cancel my subscription to exchange online for my organization. Incredible.
If it is done under the argument of more safety, then note that imap properly configured does not constitute a security risk. Also Oauth is not the final and only solution for authentication. It is hybris to believe restricting outlook would make the world safer. It is generally the software from microsoft which makes the world more vulnerable: software like bananas: ripes only at the client. -

Couldn't agree more with the comments already posted. Being able to access IMAP accounts is a basic requirement and I regret to say that Microsoft's attitude in denying access to other provider accounts is nothing short of astonishing. The attitude seems to be 'take it or leave it' rather than 'what can we do to help customers so they remain loyal' ?

Microsoft is clearly showing an incredible arrogance here, not to take IMAP/Apple users into account when renewing Outlook/Apple is indeed not the best when it comes to developing good software in terms of mails, and Microsoft can normally benefit from this! This is a great opportunity for Microsoft to prove its expertise! So Microsoft engineers: get to work!!

Yes please bring back the ability to use non gmail and Microsoft accounts other IMAP and POP. Without it there is no point to switch to the new outlook for MAC

Its a non-starter if you cannot provide the ability for IMAP accounts to be supported in the new Outlook
How could you consider launching the upgrade and promoting it so aggressively without this BASIC functionality to enable your users to benefit?
Is this another way to force people to buy a Microsoft 365 email?
I am sure you understand that Mac users have high expectations based on Apple's fanatical focus on customer experience. You failed to improve your image as treating us as second class.
Its a terrible move that has the opposite effect you are looking for. Now I will search for alternatives to Outlook. -

I'd love to use the new Outlook but IMAP/POP support is critical. I'll wait for it to be implemented to switch.

Well, I was so happy to see the calendar on my Outlook desktop - in plain view rather than having to click on the calendar to see what is scheduled. However, there is no ability to create contact lists in this new version!! And just with the simple click of a button I actually lost my largest contact group on the old version as well. Now I have to recreate it in the old version. I will not be using the new version until contact lists are made available.

One of my 4 email accounts is not IMAP. Was able to take the new version for a spin, really liked the UX. Unfortunately, that account does not make me any money, not my primary business account. I had to switch back to the old version. Would be great to see IMAP/POP supported in the future.
Does Microsoft have plans to integrate IMAP/POP or are they phasing out of their ecosystem going forward. From a consumer standpoint it would be nice to know if this is the last version of Microsoft outlook we are going to be able to use or we need to start making other arrangements.

I was told that the "New Outlook" would be supporting IMAP accounts "soon" back in June (from an Office Insider release). It's now October, the New Outlook has been mainstreamed, and there's no sign of IMAP support. This makes Outlook a one trick pony, and completely useless for my needs.

I concur with the original poster- what the heck? Until this is fixed I'm switching over to the native Mac Mail program. We'll see if I make it back to Outlook I suppose.

I definitely need my standard IMAP accounts in Outlook for Mac. Just with Office 365 and Google, it makes no sense to change to the new version. Hope the Microsoft team will soon be working on this issue.

Faire autant d'étude pour créer un nouveau outlook inférieur à celui actuel quelle stupidité !!!
