The new Outlook client seems to be limited to syncing six months of email. I can't find the sync limit anywhere. I keep switching between the two Outlook clients depending what I am searching for.

The ability to have the option to sync all mail from the server is essential - I really can't believe this is not default behaviour. Old Outlook does this without hassle.
There could be a dialogue box appear when you add a new account asking how far to go back.
I've just joined Microsoft 365 for professional email after getting frustrated with Apple mail recently. Now I have to regress of the Old outlook which looks dated in comparison but nevertheless works.
I (and many other users) need to sync ALL mail, etc. in an account. That means it syncs without having to scroll through messages in every folder or do anything else. Outlook has always been able to do this. Without this, I cannot use the New Outlook.

Yes. We need to be able to bring emails down and manage them. Even deleting emails once they get old is painful. I can search and select only 100 per "delete" then I have to wait and 1/2 the time it doesn't re-search unless I click the criteria and press enter again. And I reluctantly use the New Outlook because I need years of archives which this doesn't support. I can swithc back (I think) but it isn't smooth. Thanks!
This is vital, especially when you have a large mailbox - being able to search through mail history is part of my job. If I have to wait for the "Loading - this may take a few moments" message and message list refresh in my dozens of mailbox folders then my job immediately becomes impossible.
Also, if the messages are not in the cache then they do not appear in the "conversations" till you click on the relevant folders, making that functionality seem half-baked too.
This one is critical especially for a desktop mail application. I had to scroll for 30 minutes just to get a few months of mail loaded. It needs to have the option to load all email, 2 years, 1 year, etc... like cached mode in Outlook for windows.
I also noticed clicking filter by flagged emails only loads the flagged emails that have been downloaded making it impossible to find older flagged emails in this client.
Most people use their Outlook folders and mailbox to store their past messages. This must be turned back on.
This is definitely necessary! All mail should be synced by default to begin with.
This is also a horrible problem with the Outlook app.

Please implement the ability to choose number of days to sync. This exists for most other clients, mobile or laptop.
i only get 1 month sync'd. it's unusable. i need all my emails on my laptop at all times. I work on planes and disconnected. i need my info available with no internet connection.
