Also seeing it fail to check permissions when opening a users calendar. Everyone in the organization has access to free/busy

When I have to make appointments with several people I have to go to Outlook for Windows to open people's calendars to see whether they are busy or not. In Outlook for Mac I get the notification that I don't have permission. I have a few people in the left pane that gave me full access to my calendar, but I can't have all over 1000 colleagues there. And I also can't expect from them that they change all settings especially for Outlook for Mac users. The permission level settings should be the same for both Outlook for Windows and Mac.

When moving to 'new outlook' for Mac, keep existing shared calendars when migrating to the new client.
All other settings seem to have been persistent, but shared calendars have been dropped. -

Would like to be able to open/view shared calendars from the address book. Much like you can do in Outlook for Windows. Currently, there is no option to open or view a shared calendar whether it be from another mailbox of a room/resource.

We live in calendars and "New Outlook" doesn't appear to have any buttons or way to view and overlay our other colleagues calendars in one place. This is very useful for scheduling or looking for open days for teams to meet. Please add this back or make it more obvious on how to do it if it's still there, but New outlook made all my shared calendars disappear; so it seems like the feature was removed.

I've never found it intuitive on any platform - I'm not sure it's even possible in the outlook for web. Outlook for mac had a helpful ribbon item "Open Shared Calendar" that easily allowed you to open another coworker's calendar which was probably the best solution.
Currently, the new outlook doesn't appear to have this option - But does show some random coworkers calendars (that may also show or not match the outlook for web list of shared calendars). Seems this list also doesn't match the old outlook shared calendar list so adding them there and then switching to the new version also doesn't work and creates a third list of coworkers calendars.
This is a pretty key feature for using in a workspace.

Display multiple calendars and colleagues calendars (in the side panel) like you do on office.com

The ability to open other user's calendar hangs up on checking permissions.
