We're eager to see the new Outlook for Mac client adopt S/MIME support!
S/MIME support is now available in Insider Fast in versions 16.43 (20100803) and newer. Please try out S/MIME and report issues and feedback via Help > Contact Support. Thanks!

Any ETA details? Tnx.

As a first step, it'd be nice if Outlook could _indicate_ that it doesn't know what to do with the `smime.p7m` file. Someone sent me an invoice and it looked like they forgot to attach it, but Outlook for Windows does display it.
Are you able to deliver a timeframe when this functionality will be available?
This functionality is crucial in communication with my customers..
Oak waiting already for quite a while, although this is basic stuff!

This is a huge issue for my company who has a legacy S/MIME deployment, as well as using OME. OME doesn't work reliably in old Outlook where S/MIME works fine, and in new Outlook OME works well, but S/MIME doesn't work at all. With a mixed deployment Outlook is a disaster to use!
wow,I need this functionality urgently otherwise I cannot switch to the new outlook for Mac.
But I am wondering that it does take so long, from planning mid Nov last year it's still work in progress on mid May,
do you have any updates?
Support for S/MIME with Oauth accounts would be a game changer for us!

The account is missing the advanced option add certificate for digital signing and encryption

To me S/MIME support is table stakes. Will need to use OWA or Outlook for iPAD for those emails until the Mac client has this feature.

I have been trialing the "new" Outlook for Mac, and while S/MIME works properly with an IMAP account, it however does NOT work with an OAuth account type.
This is a HUGE issue for my organization, as Google is about to prevent IMAP signins for GSuite accounts starting with new users in June of 2020, and all existing users by February 2021.
This means that if there is no resolution to be able to use S/MIME with an OAuth account type, I will be forced to a new mail client.

Encrypted e-mails generates an AADSTS90072 error on the recieving Outlook. Old Outlook for Mac did not.

When trying to read an encrypted mail I only see the smime.p7m attachmend, not the content. double clicking that brings up keychain with the error "unable to import an item. The content on this item cannot be retrived."
Switching back to old design, everything works well again.
