Support for Tasks

When will Tasks be "worked on" and added? It's been over a year, still only "planned" ?
I see that I am not the only one with a Personal/Home account, who is unable to access Tasks with the new Outlook. Like many others on here, we use this feature and Microsoft have prevented me from using it.
I have switched back to the classic Outlook, as I actively use Tasks.
Is there a timeline for enabling this much requested functionality, which has been taken away?
I agree with all of these comments. Long story short, with our company migrating to the cloud version of Office, I have had to move back to using my Mac laptop from home and sorely miss the task and flag email functionality of the PC version.
I am giving the webversion of ToDo a shot (which does have some nice features) but have been told by my company that our license doesn't support the desktop version.
But my preference would be for the new Outlook to have the flag and task feature like the PC version OR make ToDo fully integrated with Outlook and let all license holders have access.

Still can't access "to do" because it asks me to sign in and I get"You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead."
WHY BOTHER WITH THIS APP? CAN'T MS GET IT FIXED? I AM GOING TO CONTINUE WITH MAIL.

Personally, I block out time for tasks on my ToDo list by dragging them onto my calendar (tasks don't get done unless you block out time to do them!).
This is a feature I rely on... the calendar view in the New Outlook is broken for me without this and I don't use it. I end up using Outlook Web for managing tasks and coordinating calendars with other people in my organization.
It would be super cool if I could drag tasks from the ToDo app for Mac onto my New Outlook for Mac calendar! Not sure if that would ever be possible...
I would appreciate if you can contact me as soon as you have the Tasks accessible from the new Outlook. I am now using the old version since the new one doesn´t support this feature, that I use quite a lot
Would love to use the new outlook but the fact that you cant access the notes in your contacts without hitting the edit button is a huge downfall. Once that feature is available I would consider going back to using it.

An integrated experience is very important to me and the integration of To Do / Tasks in Outlook would be a great win in terms of this. I am currently using To Do as an app on my MacBook and loving it. If that was integrated into Outlook itself even better.
a golden rule of "reimagining an experience" is enhancing it but not cutting key capability users already have and need. how anyone could have approved losing access to Tasks for a non-functional To-Do for a paid O365 Home subscription is mind-boggling. Spent 30 mins in the new Outlook before being forced to switch back for productivity's sake. Table stakes, please enable so can move forward
I have the same issue as others below - clicking the To Do button takes me to the online sign-in for To Do but won't let me use my Office 365 Home email to sign in. It asks for a work or school account instead. I've tried logging into To Do online separately, and also have it open as a desktop app, and I still get taken to this screen. Infuriating.
Almost a year on, a new interface and still nothing.

It would be great to have it all fully compatible. We are getting there - thanks MS - just one more step!

Dysfunctional at best, the Task/To-Do label changes back and forth. When I select To-Do, which I use and have installed, it launches a browser and takes me to a site I can not log in to. At least correct the URL to login to the To-Do. site
Please, clicking on To Do icon should bring up the app installed on the drive, not to a website, thank you!
Add Tasks to new outlook!!
Totally - I was already skeptical of the new Outlook with all the other issues, but when I saw Tasks weren't integrated into the desktop app, it was a real demonstration that it is not production ready
with new update today, I currently cannot login to my To Do app in new outlook which is same Microsoft account for office.. it says, You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead.
While the "Support for Tasks" title you've given this thread allows for a wide range of suggestions, please do not forget the original request: Nested Sub-tasks, that can be shown/hidden, reordered, categorized, individually checked, prioritized, etc.

Among my top three features absence... And reason why I had also switched back to legacy UI. Eagerly waiting for ETA update.
New Outlook should allow me to continue maintaining my Tasks on my local machine and not send me online. If that is the case, why not eliminate Outlook and force everything online.
