Use native contacts on macOS
The recent update enabled contacts however they are exactly the same as always, I still cannot access my apple contacts from within Outlook which means there is no way to store my iPhone and Outlook contacts in one place (I sync these across from iOS too)

My Computer Contacts
In current Outlook, my contacts are in the My Computer folder. New outlook does not display them.
How can you design a "New" Outlook that doesn't have same functionality of the Old Outlook.
And when the Old Outlook is no longer an option, how do I get my contacts?
Bad design.

Search contacts by something other than name
Under "People" the search bar only finds results if searching by name. If you try to search by say, a company name, it will not return results. The old outlook would find results for your search term no matter what field that term was in. Please bring this back!

Have an address book show all address lists from Exchange (like outlook for windows)
port the address book from the windows outlook client to the macOS version.
In a large company you need to be able to select different address lists and GAL from the exchange server42 votes -

create New Collaboration group in new outlook in macOS
There is no feature to support Groups or contact lists in new Outlook for macOS. When you switch from old to new, the Lists are not visible and neither can one create new lists

Add/remove/rearrange columns in People and sort by column header
Right now you cannot add, remove or rearrange columns in People section, and they are automatically pre-grouped in Name (instead of First/Last Name) and Title and Company (instead of 2 separate Columns).
I also cannot sort/search by Category, Title or any other field in the Contact.18 votes -
Find contacts across multiple accounts when creating a new message
When I create a new email message and begin typing the name of a contact, Outlook should find contacts from all of my mail accounts. This worked in Old Outlook, but in New Outlook it only searches contacts in the current account.

The ability to initiate a Teams Chat from an outlook contact
When viewing the Contact Card of an email recipient (clicking the recipient's name/address) there is an option to initiate a chat with the individual. However, this appears to default to Skype. However, Teams is my primary chat agent. I assume since Skype is set to sunset, Teams will be integrated, but in the interim, a user should be allowed to set their preferred default chat agent is. Since I don't use Skype, this initiate chat action is useless, but a much needed/desired feature.

continue the "advance search" feature for contacts and filter by categories
I use Outlook as my CRM for my sales job. 90% of my contacts are tagged or categorized with custom categories. I use the Advance Search feature in contacts to filter by specific category. Not having this ability is a major inconvenience and will force me to stop using Outlook to effectivelly manage my contacts database.
If you get rid of this feature, I don't know what the purpose of categories will then be?

Alias field is not visible
When looking at anyone's Contact information, the Alias field is not displayed. This is a vital need for my work looking up identity information that is used in setting up laptop user accounts.

Would be nice to add tasks under People
For example. If you have a client in your address book that you need to follow up with on a monthly basis, assign that tasks under the contact, and when it's time to follow-up you have all your notes and past interactions with that prospect in one view.

Search bar returning results from notes section of people/contacts
The Search bar must return results from the text field in the notes section of people/contacts. Many people record key information in the noters field. Older versions of outlook show search results from this field.
Cann you advise when this will be implemented.

Re-add IMAP Directory Search
I no longer have the ability to search our institutional directory. Memorizing 10,000 email addresses or adding them local is pointless, when I have access to a perfectly good IDM system.

Could you please create an additional "business card" view for the contacts? A similar view existed in an older version of Outlook..
In a former version of OUTLOOK, the PEOPLE view allowed to place all contacts in a "business card view" where one contact is next to the other.... filling the whole page... then scrolling down for searching contact details was much easier and more efficient, especially if you treat more than 1,500 contacts.
