I don't want to read e-mails in the same window as the e-mail list.
Too many unnecessary elements. From seeing a list containing 16 e-mails, even on a small laptop screen, I only see 5 e-mails at a time now. This is time consuming, makes you focus on a lot of unnecessary content.
One of the things I liked about the online version of outlook was being able to see an overview of what's going on in my e-mail inbox very fast, without having to scroll down and waste time.

If i'm interested in what the e-mail contains, I'll just open it, you don't have to show me everything in the message list.

The feature of showing the exact attachment of an e-mail is useful for when I'm searching for something, but in doesn't have to be in the default view, it takes up too much space.

There are so many elements that it's hard to focus on the main interest point, the e-mail list itself.

I'm working on a 13" Mac and space is limited.

I can only access three emails from my inbox onscreen at any one time, because (i) each email 'card' contains multiple lines of detail (previously in a single row) and (ii) there's a whopping great banner ad which I can't get rid of at the base, overlay other emails.

You have put too much in the one screen to bring outlook.com in line with the Outlook product, which I find unpleasant and confusing to use and only use it for work because I'm forced to.

Usability is poor and the impact on cognitive load is significant. Email should be easy, but the amount of decision-making and learning is overwhelming on what should be a simple product.

Simply put, there is too much there.

However, your problem is not simply one of layout or information hierarchy. Outlook has a failure in the conceptual navigation model. You've erred on the side of 'give users access to everything in one view' - the 'one-stop-shop' view - when the very nature of emails requires the user to jump between headspace from one conversation to another.

In other words, I don't need to know the subject of my recent email from my Body Corporate, when I'm trying to read up on one just in about my upcoming flight.

You have an opportunity to leverage tagging / categorisation / keyword networking / machine learning / other capabilities to surface 'related' emails to enable users to engage in the 'full conversation', even when split across several threads. Instead, you're relying on the old school method of folders, and navigation hierarchy that is very linear.

I'd love to be reading an email from my Body Corporate about my property in SomePlace and to have visibility / reminder about a recent email from the Pest Inspection Company about the same property. They'd be different threads, but keywords could suggest relevance.

How can I tell if they are duplicates or not? It scans; comes back with a list. Now, for example - it comes back with entry #1 "john smith" "are these two entries the same contact" sub 1 "john smith - 4 linked contacts" sub 2 "smith john - 2 linked contacts".

THERE IS NO WAY TO CLICK TO SEE IF THEY REALLY ARE THE SAME CONTACT/INFO/PERSON. 6 entries total; how can I tell based upon the just the name John Smith? all clicking the entry does is - select/unselect.

Additionally, there are other entries in the list - "John smith" "are these 9 entries the same contact?" and then lists 9 separate/individual/unrelated names. HOW CAN I TELL WHAT CROSS INFORMATION THEY MAY HAVE - THAT WOULD MAKE OL.COM "THINK" IT IS THE SAME ENTRY?

I know we're on Beta - but wow... though something like this might be taken care of - you know like back in early 2000.... This is a 20 year old, next version of office - "wishlist item" - should not be a problem in this day/age.

Maybe I should export all my contacts - let google handle it.
