Unreadable Font & Too Much White Space
Too much wasted white space. Like an Apple website. Please remove the sender icon, or provide an option to exclude it from the display. It’s not necessary. The coloured balls just confuse the eye and don’t help me identify my contacts. Particularly because the letters inside them are virtually invisible.
In fact, the new font is too difficult to read and will be the primary reason I don’t use this beta version of Outlook. Super-skinny medium grey letters on a white, darker grey, or coloured background are difficult to read and can’t possibly be good UX design.
The global population is aging. There are nearly a billion more people in the world over the age of 40 vs. 20-35, and that number is rising. In the U.S., alone, 60% of ALL humans need reading glasses….
PLEASE stop over-designing everything into invisibility and keep email functional. My inbox is not an art gallery. I have limited screen space. Don’t make me struggle to read my messages.
-- Use space more efficiently please.
-- Black type please. White background please.
-- Use colour sparingly, or incorporate graphic elements into optional settings so I can choose
-- Don’t hide buttons and scroll bars, make them visible already.
There is no reason to obscure or hide features people use all the time if the goals are to enhance utility and usability.
