Overall this new "beta" outlook.com is a major step backwards. It appears as if all you have done is try to make the UI "prettier" at the expense of functionality. The only new feature that has some merit is the ability to display a conversation in chronological order. Otherwise, many of the much-used features have disappeared (e.g., refresh, move to with a list of all folders, ability to customize the icons when you focus on an email). When upgrading a product you should focus on increasing functionality not just an "artsy" UI.
