Spam/junk email showing up in Inbox
Why can’t you have a more efficient spam filter? When I get 10 emails saying the same dumb **** which is obviously spam, can’t I just block certain words? Or better yet, can’t you block emails even coming through to my spam folder/inbox which are obviously spam? I don’t need them, and I’m probably not alone...
We are sorry about the spam mail you’ve been receiving. We are looking into improving the filtering.
Spam coming through to inbox already flagged, spam filter not effective at all. When mail gets put into spam block any further emails from this address or similar titled emails

Okay, there are so much to talk about. Not to mention UI, and optimization in different platforms (it also takes long time to load up the very first inbox screen even with your Edge browser).
BUT the BIGGEST problem is spam/junk mail filtering.
I get that there are millions of spam/junk mails are being sent in so many different ways and there is no definite solution to the problem. But at least we can filter it and narrow them down to small numbers with a right system, that I believe. Only if the system works.
I recently missed out my job offer email, because it went straight to the junk mail folder. I usually check junk mail folder in case if I am missing any important emails, but this time I must have missed it as I usually skim through. I was furious by the time I realized what was going on and I missed the chance. At that time, I was thinking to myself "microsoft had to put on strong filter to screen these crazy number of spam/junk mails, I guess it is my bad that I didn't thoroughly checked the junk mail folder.... It sucks but I guess it is my bad" Up until few days ago.
A few days ago, I started getting these obvious looking spam mails in my INBOX folder! I receive these broken English emails at least 5-6 a day. Well the email addresses are random, but the domain is all SAME! Crazyrandomalphabetwithemoji@festgive.com!!! I wouldn't be so furious if I hadn't done anything, but I added this domain in "block this sender or whatever the filter option it was" and the filter option specifically stated adding a domain will also work just the same as adding specific address. I even tried "report this as spam" or "move to junk folder", but I am still getting these emails in my inbox.
This is beyond disappointment. I had some inconvenience using outlook/hotmail in the past.
For instance, I've been getting my church newsletter in my inbox at times and in my junk folder at times. This situation itself is already a joke, because it was sent from personal email address. So whenever I found this newsletter in the junk folder, I use "this is not spam/junk" function, which is nothing more than moving that single item to inbox, instead of adding that email address to safe address list for me and email from that sender won't fall into junk mail AGAIN!!
Even with these experiences I kept on using hotmail, but with these recent event, it is unacceptable.
Microsoft really need to invest manpower, time, and resources into this email providing services to make some major improvements. It's not like you guys are new to the business or industry. You Microsoft has been in IT industry for so long, it's not like you guys are not capable of doing.
Please show some respect to your customers who put trust in your product and staying with you guys.

I get to many emails from spam emails I’m think about closing my email address
Trots att jag blockerat avsändare kommer spam därifrån. Ni måste bli bättre
jeg for de samme mails hver dag, flytter dem til spam..men de kommer stadig. det er vigtigt
Hello, I’m being harassed by people I don’t know and they want me to send them money. Fake. I don’t reply to their messages but I definitely want to delete their e-mails. help me!!!
I have experienced a large increase in things being classed as junk mail and the stuff I have marked as not spam still goes to junk next time. Please sort it out as I can’t carry on moving things all the time.
Why can’t I block/report/delete someone, something from emailing me without opening the email?! Spam and everything other bad unwanted email out there only gets worse if you click the email! I’m at the point of deleting this account and never coming back.

This is ridiculous. How can we use a mail product that delivers mostly junk and spam and loses our email in that mess in the process? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for even putting this out. It’s not ready.
So frequently, I will receive exactly the same SPAM message, after I have marked the first one as SPAM, 6 or 8 times more in the same day, often 3 or 4 times straight. Surely that could be tweaked somehow. Right?

Most users here are complaining about receiving too much spam. I have the exact opposite problem. I subscribe to several mailing lists which I do read and they almost always wind up in the spam folder. It is very difficult to black/whitelist senders on the mobile webpage and not possible through either the apple mail app or outlook app. Moving messages from the junk folder to my inbox doesn't affect future messages however, in my experience, once i move an email from a new sender to the junk folder in Apple mail, all future messages go to junk. You need to allow access to the safe sender and block lists through the mobile website as well as the app.
Markerar jag ett mail som skräppost så ska mail från den domänen automatiskt hamna i skräpposten
I have the same problem. I remove at least 6-7 spam mails a day, and its the same kind of spam mails. Im so close to just change mail.

I’ve removed my outlook mail account from all my devices because of the overwhelming amount of junk mail flooding my inbox. People have been complaining about it for months. Lots of people. Is there anybody from Microsoft who even cares about this issue? Apparently not. I’m not quite sure how you expect us to use this mail if our inbox is completely flooded with garbage and we can’t find our legitimate messages. I’m very disappointed in Microsoft and never thought I would have to delete my account after 25 years with a hotmail address.
90% of my inbox is junk. Microsoft is the only accounts I have this big of a problem with
It seems most the "idea's" here are in fact complaints and frustrations about Microsoft's lack of effort and ineptitude in tackling Spam and getting at the sources and trying to stop and curtail it themselves.
My idea is that Microsoft should task itself more into pursuing and prosecuting these annoying and dangerous parasites and to put it at the top end of their agenda.
If they have a 'dedicated' department for this then it should have a major clearout ( top to bottom) as it is not fit for purpose .
My other suggestion is that if they don't sort it out then we should all change our email provider!
Spam messages reach me despite the ban. Messages still reach me
Spam address is email@example.com
Annoying junk mail have been delivered to inbox
533 junk emails in 2 days. Now these crude spams and phishing are showing up in my focused inbox, 20 in one hour. Outlook, I'm done, you suck.
Also block any emails containing the words "slim", "congratulations" and "****".
