First off, Thanks for taking sometime to try the new experience and for providing feedback.

You mention that things feel a bit too cluttered on a laptop.

Can you try disabling these two settings and see if it feels better.

Click the Gear in the top right, and then disable Sender Photos and Attachment Previews.

    Hope this helps!

    David Los

  2. Too MUCH Info!!!

There is simply too much information for each message.

This is a great setup for a tablet or phone, but on a computer, I'd like a refined experience. In the NEW Outlook, I don't want to see previews of the attachments and each message in your mail could be trimmed down.

For those with a ton of mail, like myself, this clogged view can really get annoying after scrolling and scrolling to search for a particular message in our folders.

First off I just want to personally thank you for taking time to try the new Outlook on the Web experience, as well as providing feedback.

I did want to write and let you know that you are actually able to turn off some of the new features that might be adding to the feeling of being more cluttered/more information showing.

I would recommending trying to turn off Attachment Previews and Sender Photos. If you click on the gear in the top right, you can toggle both of them to off.

    Hope this helps!

  3. make the level of "noisiness" adjustable.

New Outlook on web is too "noisy." Some people may like it, though I found it way too distracting. Allow people to have more control over the look and feel, but keep access to the better search and other functionality.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. I wanted to reach out and see what features you felt were adding to the noisiness.

We actually have some settings in place to turn off some of the newer features. This includes the Circles that have the initials or photos, as well as the Attachment previews.

If you click on the gear in the top right hand corner, toggle off Sender Photos and Attachment Previews. Let me know what you think and if it helps

    thanks

    David Los

  4. Attachments on side bar

I don't like that the attachments show up on the side bar, it makes it look very scattered and unorganised.

Thank you for the feedback, and for trying Outlook on the Web.

I just wanted to let you know that there are two options to turn off those two features you mentioned.

    1) Click on the Gear in the top right
    2) Toggle off both the Sender Photos and Attachment previews.

This should turn off both of those features you mentioned.

    Hope this helps

    David Los

  5. VIEWING MAILS

The list of mails displayed is confusing as the attachments are cover the mails which makes difficult to identify the mails. This was better in the older version.

  6. I don't like that I can't collapse the side panel (Inbox, Trash, etc.) and make the actual email bigger.

Thank you for taking time to try out the new experience as well as providing feedback!

I also just wanted to let you know that you are actually able to hide the folder pane.

If you click the three lines that are next to the new mail icon, the folder pane will collapse.

    Hope this helps! Thanks

Click on the gear in the top right, and then disable the Sender Photos and Attachment Previews.

This will help reduce some of the colors, and reduce some of the preview pictures that are shown.

  12. ain't got no alibi

Ugliest version yet. Tries to cram in too many needless bells and whistles. Like the last update. Email is simple text -- the more clutter you add to justify asking your clients to pay for an update, the worse your product gets. Just stop. Email should be simple.

  15. search bar

I switched back to the old Outlook because the search bar was buried somewhere and I couldn't find it.

  17. Disabled Image Icons by Default

Image icons are ugly and waste screen space. They should be disabled by default, especially for enterprise users

  18. New outlook

It seems that simplicity was sacrificed for a slightly more modern look.

Hi there! First off, thanks for taking a few minutes to provide some feedback. We have for sure been working on improving the experience and making it feel more modern. The design has been based on lots of feedback we have received on the current version.

You mention that it feels less simple. Do you mind me asking what exactly makes it less simple?

Is it the new Sender Photos (colored circles) or the attachment previews?

Did you know you can actually turn off both of those? Check out the Gear in the top right. You can quickly toggle a variety of settings that will adjust the look and feel.

    Thanks!

    David Los

  19. Design is inefficient

The display of emails take up the same amount of space with less information. It's not as readable as the old version. The enlarged navigation bar on the left takes space away from what really matters to me--being able to see the emails in my inbox.

  20. The folders side bar is no longer collapsable. Completely Unusable

In the old outlook, the folders sidebar collapsed into a very unobtrusive thin bar. In its current state, I cannot even use the new outlook. I relegate my outlook to half of one of my screens and emails are unreadable with the folders bar taking up 20% of the available screen space.

Hi there! Thank you for the feedback and for using Outlook on the Web!

I just wanted to let you know that you can collapse the folder list. If you click on the icon with the three lines, located next to the new email button. It will collapse the folder list.

    Hope that helps!
