Pinned messages do not show preview or sender
In the old outlook pinned messages would show the same things as a normal message, however now they just show the title. Now I have to open up each email to remind myself who it was from and what it was about...
Hey all, thanks for your feedback. We changed the pinned items to occupy less space so that you could still see new messages in your inbox even if you had a lot of pinned items.
We assumed that by pinning the items, you would know what the email was about so you’d need less information on the message.
We’ll track this item and figure out whether we want to change it in the future.

It's messed up my system as well.
Any updates since July on this?
Just somebody tell me how to undo this update and get out of the burning **** it has dumped me in. How about I come to your office and set fire to your work tray and see how you like it. "We’ll track this item and figure out whether WE want to change it in the future" just sums MS up. Thoughtless, inconsiderate and arrogant. I didn't realise your products were all about you. Stupid customers eh!
give us the option of how we want it to look and then you will not have upset users.
Clearly these people have never actually used email at work or they would know that subject lines are very often not useful to determine what an email is about. It's insane that they thought it ok to remove the sender and preview. Like seriously, how do you expect us to identify pinned emails?? Idiots...
I, like many, have hundreds of emails coming into my email a day. I pin or categorize to organize my incoming emails. I have spent twice as much, if not more, time just trying to figure out where emails are coming from, if I replied, etc.
I also do not appreciate taking away the option to create a new email in a pop-out window. It now also loses the current email I was viewing when I try to make the draft email a pop-out window. PLEASE SEND HELP.
PLEASE ADD OUR OPTIONS BACK. :(
I work in insurance. I get approximately 100 emails per day. I will pin the top priority items to the top to make sure they get taken care of. Just showing me their subject of "open enrollment" doesn't tell me anything. I have 5 open enrollments this month and am already working on next months, and the following month as well. So, now I have 15 emails, all pinned, that all say "open enrollment" It would be helpful if we could at least revert back to the classic view. But, that is also not an option. You now have headers that say this week, last week, etc. I can look at the date and see that. Waste of useful information (by not at least showing the sender in pinned) and now shows us useless information. (today, yesterday, last week) If this doesn't get fixed, I will have to go back to using gmail. Not a smart move outlook
"figure out whether we want to change it in the future." Sorry I wrongly thought that Microsoft was about customer service. you would have had to write additional code to implement compressing thye view of pinned items only, there was already that functionality in the view options for those that want a compact list, so why write only half the code, if you are going to have pinned items treated differently then you at the very least should have provided a choice of how it is displayed between the old way and the new "improved" way. I am yet to meet anyone that uses pinned items who is happy about this change. just fix it, either change it back or provide options to alter the view. I have decided that is what you will do, because I am the customer and as you should be aware the customer is always right! :)
Please at the very least add an option to revert back to showing a preview of the message. In general, most people are terrible about using a subject that has any useful information. With this recent change, half of my pinned emails now only say "Quote" or "Pricing" whereas before I could get a refresher from the first couple lines of the email. Please fix.
Do not like the compressed pinned items. The pinned items occupy less space but now there is wasted space in the normal email list with all of these useless headers for Today, Yesterday, Last Week, Last Month... Not a fan of these headers taking up space in the messages list. This is not a useful feature.
Well there does appear to be some semblance of logic somewhere in making this change; The fact that there is not, at the very least, a setting to view pinned e-mails previews just like regular e-mails, is incredibly frustrating both in slowing productivity and just as an overall aesthetic forcing an inconsistent mail view.
Is this a joke? I have numerous pinned emails from various senders (these are emails which I need to action) and I need to be able to tell, at a glance:
1. The sender of the email
2. The subject of the email
3. A preview of the message (so that I can differentiate separate threads involving the same people and subject).
It's completely bizarre that this option has been removed without any consultation, or obvious way to restore the old outlook.
Please let me know when this option is restored.
I did not like this change. It stressed me out.

I need all of my emails to be the SAME WIDTH. It is very discombobulating and NOT user-friendly to not have them uniform. Who is in charge of UX? It's really ridiculous. I also need to see my pinned emails in the same way. They are pinned and I DONT REMEMBER what they are all the time unless I see them how they were before. That's kind of the point, no? I constant reminder? Also, the increased width when there is an attachment is pointless. It's fine to see the paper clip on the side. Again, it looks like **** to not have uniform width.

I do not appreciate the recent change in outlook layout format. I cannot identify effectively the emails I have pinned anymore, like I could with the previous layout. The total LACK of an option to revert to the previous setting is as poor a decision on the part of the development team as the decision to change it was.
Assumptions almost never pan out. Think for a moment. How many important emails do you pin? I currently have multiple emails pinned from the same senders. Having to go into each and every one to find important and valid information, without the preview, is a pain in the backside. Again, very poorly thought out.
At the bare minimum, and logically this SHOULD have been the case in the first place, give your users the option to decide on their own terms if they want this minimalist look for pinned items, or if they want the preview. I, like many others it would seem, prefer previews.
In the old outlook pinned messages would show the same things as a normal message, however now they just show the title. Now I have to open up each email to remind myself who it was from and what it was about... this format is not good.
I agree, I really dislike the new formats and especially the fact that the pinned messages are just a title. I pin messages to remind myself to do that task. When the pinned message is a thin little title it does not really catch my attention. It should be the same size if not larger than the other messages.

This is something I can get used to, but it's a lot faster seeing a preview instead of having to click them. Once I have a lot of pinned messages, I can't remember what some of them are about solely based on the subject line.
PRIME EXAMPLE WHY PEOPLE HATE MICROSOFT MORE AND MORE! YOU MADE MY WORK HARDER FOR NO REASON!
Why is this still a problem?? I NEED to see senders and email previews!! You've ruined an INCREDIBLY BASIC feature of my email! I never signed up for this. Give my back the WORKING version of outlook!
