Improve the search function.
Improve the search function so you can filter the search by words/content and by who sent it.
Thank you for your feedback! We’re continually working to improve the search feature. You can currently search by words in the emails, by senders, and many more ways.
For more advanced filtering, click the “Filters” button after you’ve opened the search bar (it’s on the right side of the search bar). Then you can specify even more detailed searches.
The old 365 had great search capabilities--it could find old, buried emails that my traditional Outlook couldn't. This seems lacking now.
I like the search bar better in the old OUTLOOK. Can't find it in the new version.
I can't find it at all. It was never efficient, and now it has disappeared.
- selecting folder
- selecting people to/from
- missing the ribbon that would help do so
- both versions (old and new) are missing advanced search (with at least and/or functionality)
The search features is confusing, as example how to filter emails with attachment for a certain send or inbox , old version is more powerful
I guess I am used to GMAIL where I can search through emails with ease
It looks like much of the experience is left out when trying to search:
- Searching between date ranges,
- for specific contacts emailed,
- having favourites apply to inbox and sent,
- flags etc.
Doesn't work correctly, or isn't there at all...

In the previous outlook, there was multiple option/filter to search but in this, we have very limited and very confusing options available

The old Search function was more user friendly.

too many clicks to search in INBOX compared to old outlook
I like in the old outlook that when you search the filters of 'inbox', 'sent' etc are by default displayed. Why hide these things?
Considering most people use their inbox like an archive of files, the search should have better categorization. The best way to do this would be to utilize categories. For example when I type in an individuals name it should prompt me to either categorize emails from and to a specific email address, or search all emails with the individuals name. It would also be nice if there was a program that could determine weather the name was coming from within a body or a signature.
So for example if I search: Mario - I have the option to
- User Names
Also, a sub search under email addresses would be nice as well. For example, If I have already established I am Searching Mario@, under Sent --> "key word", that would be really helpful as well.
