when I'm in "unread" view, when I click to reply to an email, it automatically closes the email and removes it from the "unread" view.
In Chrome beta, when I'm in "unread" view, when I click to reply to an email, it automatically closes the email and removes it from the "unread" view.
This used to happen a lot on the normal outlook, but has actually stopped. I just started to try the beta again and noticed this.
As I really enjoy the unread view, this is critically annoying.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback! We are aware of this issue with creating drafts from the unread filter and are working on a fix.
Thank you for your patience and we will send an update once we have a fix.

Still happening as of November 2020. This issue occurs in Outlook itself. Not just Chrome.

This is still happening for me.

When the emails are filtered to show just the "Unread" messages:
When you open an email that has been filtered to "Unread" and then try to "Reply", the program kicks you out of the email (I'm assuming because Outlook is now showing this email as "Read") and you are unable to reply.

When I filter my messages on "unread" which I do often for work my emails automatically pop into a new window which I really do not want!
Love that the messages stay unread when in that filter though

When I reply to an email, instead of the normal email pop-up the email just disappears from my unread folder and the reply moves into drafts.

While using the "Unread" filter and you press reply, the reply box opens without the email content and also removes the email from the "unread" view. This gets very annoying for a person like me who is highly dependent on clearing emails through the unread folder.

Agreed. Very annoying as this is how I organise my emails! It saves the reply message as a draft.

When using the "Filter by Unread" filter, and replying or forwarding to messages, it was closing the normal windows and opening them in weird ways with the previous message not included. Can't work like that I'm afraid.

i don't like how when i reply or forward a message it becomes automatically unread and basically gets lost if i am using the filter:unread function. then i have to go searching for it in my regular inbox and if i can't remember who sent it or the title i am screwed.

When I filter my unread messages, every 2 or 3 messages that I reply to, my draft will disappear. Then I am forced to go to the drafts tab to get back to my message so that I can finish writing my reply.

Browser: Microsoft Edge
Browser Version: 42.17134.1.0
Operating System: Windows 10 ProI typically keep the filter "Unread" on and when I go to reply to an email it freezes, goes to the next email but makes the one I was trying to reply to a draft but doesn't pull any of the email contents over.
For those experiencing this issue. There is a permanent filter that allows you to make all emails "Unread" until you mark them as read. I have done this as a work around but still switched back to the old version as it's neater as all unread is together instead of spread out.
If Microsoft has any questions feel free to contact me.
Thanks!

In the "new Outlook" version, in the Unread-filtered view of the Inbox, when I open an email and click the "Reply" icon, I get kicked out of the email and the message list is displayed. I can then go to the Drafts folder to continue composing my reply, but would appreciate this bug being remedied. (I seem to recall it was working correctly yesterday, but can't be sure - it's possible I only replied from the all-items view.)

Same here, with Safari on Mac. Reverting to old version, because this bug breaks my workflow.

Not only that, which is really annoying, in my view when I hit reply, the reply email is blank. It doesn't have the thread of the previous message.

When replying back to email with the unread filter the message disappears. Also there is no option for the reply message box to appear in a new window which I believe is why the message disappears when it is set to the unread filter.

Agreed. Reverting to old Outlook until this is rectified.

When filtering by Unread email, cannot reply to emails. Reply goes away and moves to drafts folder. Very annoying.

Agree! This makes Outlook unusable for me. It is just a plain error in the design.
