  1. Inline reply quotation

Inline reply is impossible in Outlook on the web, since Outlook does not seem to understand indentation or quotation at all. Communicating with Outlook on mailing lists or group emails where this is the predominant style interaction is excruciating, agonizing and places an artificial limiting factor on ones ability to communicate effectively.

Here is a link that describes inline posting that has been prevalent on the Internet for decades.

Gmail handles indentation just fine, but since I am forced into using Outlook for work email, this lack of basic functionality and understanding of how text based email works is…

  2. Can't find a way to reply inline (with chevrons as we've been using for decades) except by doing it manually.

  3. Please bring back the pop-up tooltipsy bar with "Reply" and "Quote".

I like the new interface, looks really slick and responsive. Two things make me settle on the old one. First is the missing next meeting reminder, voted highly in another suggestion

Another is the missing pop-up that shows when hovering over a selection, that contains the Reply frob in reading mode and the Quote in editing an email mode. Without these, I cannot make an inline reply.

Copy/Paste/Format as quote does not quite work the same, as it pulls too many (pretty much all) attributes from the original font if the message was formatted. Besides, it's too tedious.

  4. Reply Inline disappears when attachment preview is open

When I open a document in preview mode and then click reply, the sender's message disappears and I can no longer reply inline. Clicking on the three dots at the bottom doesn't bring it back.

If I just hit reply, I can reply inline, but not after opening an attachment in preview mode. Liked the rest of it, but had to switch back for that reason.

  5. Cannot create a calendar event by dragging an email into the Calendar

I use to drag emails and dropping them to the calendar so it can create an event (base on that email).
It's easier and faster to follow up on your emails and making them an event with a reminder in the calendar.

  6. The reply and reply all buttons get grayed out under certain conditions.

The reply button and the reply all button seem to gray out under certain conditions. It seem to happen when you have multiple responses to an email and when you reply to one of the later responses and then go back and try and respond to one of the earlier messages. I have to switch back to the old outlook view to make the reply.
