Deleted items re-appearing
Getting really sixk of deleting emails only to have them reappear multiple times.
566 votesHey all, wanted to provide an update here. It seems like some people are having an issue where the deleted items are causing the mailbox to hit the storage limit. Please select all messages in deleted items by clicking the circle check mark next to Deleted Items. Then choose “Empty folder”. This should delete all items and free up storage in your mailbox. If you are having trouble sending emails because of a storage limit, this should help
If you are having other issues, please fill out this form and we’ll try to see what’s going on: https://forms.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR3M5kvKXLUxLg5HHvJDXsGlUMTkyUVdRNjlQV1c5UThZWVhORE04WjJUSS4u

Can no longer drag & drop emails to folders
Can no longer drag and drop emails to folders. It only works if that email is not the current one open. So if I have only one email left in my inbox (I like to keep my inbox empty) I can't drag and drop that last remaining email because that one is "open" I have to click on the little circle to the left of the email, then from the drop down folder menu click on the folder I want it to go to. This is more time consuming .This is using google chrome and IE and from other computers…
1,167 votesWe’ve fixed and shipped this bug fix. Drag/drop should now work in all browsers.

When scrolling through mail it is auto jumping back to top of the page
When scrolling down through emails it keeps randomly returning to the top of the list. When scrolling through older emails and having to wait for them to load into the list it is frustrating to have to go back down and wait each time for them to load.
832 votesWe’ve identified one of the issues with Firefox which will be fixed when Firefox updates to version 57.
One of our users has also posted a solution for Firefox that seems to work that you can try in the interim:
1) Type “about:config” in the address bar.
2) Click the “I accept the risk” button.
3) Type “accessibility.blockautorefresh” in the search box (though, you might not have to do this – for me it is the third item from the very top in config).
4) Double-click on the first item that appears to modify the value to “true”.
5) Restart Firefox. We are also working on improving reliability and performance while scrolling that will help alleviate this issue on other browsers like Chrome, Edge, and IE. Those changes should be available soon and we will update this thread once those have been released.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Rule Move all messages in the Inbox folder and all future messages "when creating a rule.
Hello, Devs
Please return the option to Move all messages in the Inbox folder and all future messages when creating a rule, it is of extreme importance this feature, THAT EXISTS THE YEARS in the classic version and was withdrawn in the new one.
Why did they do that? They have taken a role that is important in day-to-day life.
642 votesThank you for your feedback.
To create the sweep rule to move all messages from a user in the Inbox folder and all future messages:
1) Select the email or emails with the senders you which to move
2) Click the “Sweep” Button or click “Move-to → Move all emails from”
3) Select the option “Move all messages from the Inbox folder and any future messages”
4) Choose the folder you wish to move these messages to
5) Click “Ok” -
Hard to tell between read and unread messages
I liked some of the ideas being used in beta, but I hate the new layout! I found it far less readable. It was more difficult to differentiate between read and unread messages quickly. I'd love the option to change the layout to what I prefer. It was enough to make me opt out.

Where has the "Move all email from" option gone?
Where has the "Move all email from" option gone? It is no longer available under the "Move to" drop-down menu. I used to be able to open an email message, choose "Move to", then choose "Move all email from", it would auto-fill the sender from the selected message, then I would select a folder, and it would sweep my inbox and move all emails from that sender to a folder. I no longer see that option. The "Sweep" option only gives an option to delete. Very frustrating!
113 votesHi all – Thanks again for reporting this issue! I also wanted to let you know that it is now fixed, and everyone should be able to see Move All when they click on the Move button.
Hope this helps, and keep the feedback coming!
Thanks,

Advanced search
How do I do an advanced search in the beta? Specifically, how do I search by date?
274 votesHello – I just wanted to let you know that we have enabled search date ranges in the new Outlook.com experience.
If you click into the search bar at the top of the screen, you will see a filter view in the right of the search box. If you click that you can see you can now enter date ranges.
Hope this helps!

dark/night mode is essential
Nowadays a dark or night mode is a necessary feature IMO.
1,127 votesIt is my greatest pleasure to share this piece of news with you: Dark Mode is here, on the new Outlook.com!
What is Dark Mode?
Dark Mode is a more-pleasant way to read your Outlook.com email if you prefer interfaces that are less bright or if you are in a low-light environment. Dark Mode is available on the new Outlook.com experience (formerly known as the Outlook.com Beta experience) only. How do I turn it on?
To turn on Dark Mode, open the Quick Settings panel by selecting the Gear icon at the top of your screen. The option to enable Dark Mode is near the top of the panel, immediately under Theme selection. If your browser is unable to support Dark Mode, consider using Microsoft Edge. Why is Dark Mode not a theme?
When we designed Dark Mode, we debated having it exist in Outlook.com as a theme. We quickly… -
Hate the beta
i really hate
the new update
hate hate hate
the new update
it not even great
the new update
reasons why i hate?
why i can think of 8
so change it back mate
to the old update(BTW the only good thing is colours)
1,059 votesFirst off, I just want to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time and providing feedback on the new Outlook.com experience. I totally appreciate that updates can often be frustrating when things change. I also want to thank everyone that has provided feedback over the course of the Beta to ensure that we address feedback.
With that being said, I do want to offer some types/advice on some options that you can select to get a view that is more in line with the old experience. This includes turning off the Colored bubbles :)
First click on the Gear in the top right hand corner. This will load the Quick Settings Pane. This pane includes all of the key features that are likely different between the old experience and the new experience.
To get a view that is similar to the old view I would turn off…

Small message displaying area
The screen is divided into four parts where the message displaying area looks small, it feels congested to me. The round icon colour for the contacts can be darker so it would blend in with the UI. The fonts look good, spam filter is awesome, surfing speed is good, and ads on the right side is not that annoying till now for me.
388 votesFirst off, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experiences with the new Outlook.com experience.
We have been working to adjust the experience based on all of your feedback. Since we have introduced some settings, I wanted to make sure you were all aware of them.
When you are signed in, you can click on the gear in the top right hand corner. From here it will load the quick settings pane. This pane will allow you to disable/enable features that will make it feel more like the old experience.
Specifically I want to call out the Reading Pane. The old experience had the reading pane defaulted to OFF. What I would recommend doing is trying to hide it and see if that helps improve your experience.
Hope this helps

Keyboard shortcuts not working
I'm trying the new open beta. In this preview, the keyboard shortcuts are not working. Even tried with different kb-shortcuts like Outlook.com, Gmail, ... It is set to Outlook (not Outlook.com) by default. The shortcuts were working in the old layout. Please fix ASAP.

In search results get rid of "top results" section
When I search I want only one list of results so I can follow conversation with one person quickly. Top results is useless as I don't know what is missing there. I want all messages, excluding deleted folder, sorted by date with the most recent on top.
179 votesThank you for your feedback, you can turn off top results in settings—>General—>Search

Allow an option to disable Safelinks
The safelinks should be an option. I prefer to hover over the link and determine if it is junk
50 votesI just wanted to send a quick update. You should all be seeing this setting now in the Outlook.com options.
Look for it in the Premium dashboard.
Hope it helps

Search results do not show what folder a message is in
In the previous version of Outlook, there was a column to show in what folder the message was found. Now it only displays the list of messages. Due to this, there is no way to know if the messages displayed are in Deleted Items, Inbox, Outbox, or custom folders. This is a pretty important feature for keeping emails organized.
The "top results" makes search results more confusing. About 98% of the time I'm seeking a message from a sender and enter that into the search box. I don't need "top results" such as what an internet search performs. Just show…
313 votesWe’re happy to announce that search results now show folder tags. Clicking on a folder tag will also automatically scope your search to that folder.

reading pane
In the old version clicking on the inbox after clicking on a message refreshes the reading pane leaving it empty. In the beta version doing the same thing leaves up the last clicked message. Would like to clear out the reading pane if no message is clicked.
204 votesThanks for your feedback! The behavior in the new Outlook.com experience should now match what you saw in the old version.

There needs to be an option to delete/clear search history!
There is no way to delete/clear search history in Outlook.com!!!!!! This is crazy! This is a basic necessity!
187 votesThank you for all of the great feedback, and for using outlook.com! I just wanted to let you know that everyone should be able to clear their search history now.
To do this follow these steps
1) Click the Gear/Cog in the top right hand corner
2) Click Full Settings at the bottom of the Quick Setting Pane
3) Select General in the left
4) Select ExportFrom here you can delete your search history, export it if you want a copy, or request an export of your mailbox.
Hope this helps!

Very bad search process
How to find mail TO somebody !!! easy before !!!!
1 voteThank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you took the time to write to us.
You might enjoy the new Outlook experience more with a few changes to your settings, which you can find by clicking the gear icon. Try changing the setting for Conversation view to Off, changing the setting for Reading pane to Hide, and changing the setting for Attachment preview to Off.
We’re always interested in new ideas, but we need some more specific feedback to fix the problem for you. If you have more detailed suggestions, please update your idea or add a new one.
