How do I synchronise the calendar?

Synchronising seems clunky and slow. Sometimes I won't get emails for hrs, sometimes straight away. Despite hours in the phone and messages to support, no one has been a le to help. Might look for an alternate email system. The old Outlook worked seemlessly. With all the upgrades you'd think it would perform better then before not worse.
