Task and To-Do is losing formatting.
Ever since To-Do has become a feature of Tasks, I noticed a few things happening to my task. Ever since 2019, I noticed that a newly created task will lose formatting such as bullets, bold, italics, strike-through and color. I will save it. It seems to store in my local cache of Outlook just fine for the day. Once I close Outlook and open it again the next day, the formatting is changed or lost completely.
My order tasks before 2019 does not seems to do this. I wonder if it has to do with the new To-Do app which does not have formatting capabilities at all. I have not used the To-Do app at all, but only noticing this behavior since To-Do was publicly released to my tenant. Using OWA when I had the ability to switch between Old and New, the formatting did not change. Now, the new OWA only goes to To-Do for tasks.
I do appreciate the To-Do app because I can access it on my mobile device.
When I called Support, after weeks of working with the support team, they explained that this is currently by design. So what I am asking for is correct formatting and sync of To-Do and Task. Please add formatting toolbar for mobile and desktop clients of To-Do. Allow Outlook to save the formatting so when I view the task again somewhere else, it keeps the formatting exactly the same way. There is no change in formatting.
Right now, I am switching to OneNote. It will take some time to get used to the work-around. I really hope someday task and to-do can be used together keeping the formatting like how OneNote does for mobile and desktop clients.
