Remove "News" Folder or add ability to disable feature. I don't go to my email to be spammed with "news" that Microsoft thinks I need to see.

Do NOT Want NEWS tab in my Outlook.com email, please give us <Option> to REMOVE IT or HIDE it.
Pretty Sure no one wants News with their emails unless they specifically subscribed to some news email list.
Please turn this off. I'm not interested in Microsoft spoon-feeding me their preferred "news" stories.
I saw a comment below that someone turned off the News Feed. I looked and found that option by doing a right-click. THANK YOU.
After all, no news is good news!
I only just noticed the news folder. I also only just noticed the notes folder and tried using it to make notes about my disappearing emails when I try to transfer them from my junk folder to my inbox, however, I inadvertently deleted my note folder before I could use it. I don't know how I managed that and I would kind of like it back (not so much the news folder because I already have a microsoft news app on my laptop).

Microsoft Outlook team, PLEASE give us an option to remove the new "News" item in the left folder view. I came to Outlook .com to check my email, not get the kind of time wasting gossip news to my email account where I can physically feel my IQ drop as I read it. If I wanted that, I'd visit the MSN.com homepage myself.
I spent close to 20 minutes "hiding" news sources I didn't want to see (hoping I could hide them all), but after seemingly hiding news sources for ages, I discovered they all came back after saving, and if I choose to uncheck everything, it does the complete opposite and checks everything instead.
I find this non optional news tab extremely intrusive in a space that should be specific to email. displeased 20year+ user. You must realize that almost everyone has multiple email clients Gmail etc. Why push users away with an option you cant toggle off?
The News folder is annoying because it keeps populating with numbers implying there is something unread. Obviously it will keep doing this because there is more and more news, more news than any human can read. More news than humans have ever been subjected to in the history of the planetary system. If your goal is to get us to leave and find another email host it's effective. Otherwise why would anyone on this planet want to be reminded that there is more news? It seems like it is manipulative in that I would click on it like click bait thinking I have something to attend to like an unread email. So does it boost statistics that tell you I'm reading your news? I'm not reading it. It's just more click bait to deal with. If you want to do something worthwhile it would be to reduce click bait.
annoying notifications - please allow us to remove
I want to disable or delete the news folder. It's annoying, useless and I won't use it
Please remove it! Por favor, remova isso!
The newly added "News" folder is purely annoying and useless. I don't want it to notify me of news - I dont care about it. I dont want this feature at all. IF it was something forced, I want to be able to remove it which is impossible as of right now. I can only add it to my "Favorites" which I surely won't. Please remove this feature or give us an option to remove it on our own.

This another horrible idea, we do not want news here, this is for email. It is another way for hackers to get into our very important email. You keep opening up more ways for hackers to get to us and you clearly do not care about security our your customers opinions. But for once, listen to your users and please remove this permanently.

Another inter connection that is going to open more doors for hackers to get in you computer.
When are you going to learn that the more you integrate more **** together the more you open doors to hackers.
Why cant you just keep it simple Hotmail is mail not news not social media and certainly not a video chat tool it bloody mail just mail nothing but mail do you get it mail mail mail nothing else.
If i want to get news thee is more ways than none to get it and i will choose where and how i get it. not some force fed filtered ****.
This is getting to the point that even your own programs are going to be the numbers one source of spam in are mail.
I never asked for a news feed, much less one that tries to funnel liberal news items in front of my face. It's offensive and I want it gone. It's one thing for a company to try to advertise their products. It's a whole different thing to push a political agenda on a customer. I'm quite impressed, but not in a way you might appreciate. Given a choice among cometitors, you lost any edge you might have had based on good products.

Please remove the News folder. It's intrusive and annoying and rest assured I will NEVER click on an article in that folder. Garbage news feeds are everywhere today. I don't need them in my email.

Please allow for the removal or ability to hide the "news" folder in webmail. I do not like having to click on the folder to make it as read several times a day. I do not want it and did not ask for it.
It bothers me enough to switch to a different email provider and I have had this address since 2001 or something like that.
Remove this new "news" item that just showed up recently. It lists itself along with my e-mail folders. It's annoying and it cannot be removed. I understand it is a new test feature Microsoft is trying. It's annoying. It does not belong in my e-mail. If I wanted to see MSN News I'd go to your website to look at it. This only negatively affects the existing Outlook/Hotmail platform. Please remove the feature and don't do this again. It was a bad idea.
