Files menu EXPANDED?? Why?!!!!
Why Outlook opens with Files menu expanded??!! I don't want that everyone may seen it!!

Hi, thank you for your feedback! We were experimenting with this view, but decided not to keep it. You should see that the files menu has returned to the previous layout.
Thanks!

Please remove the ‘File’ feature...it is in the way of my email functions and unsightly

This is bad feature- Exposes any casual viewer to potentially sensitive files. Also, some of the files are orphaned and do not actually exist, and there is no obvious way to delete them. Please consider deleting this feature. Sometimes it's best to leave well enough alone.

don't need that feature!

Yes! That needs to be removed. We need to choose what we want to see when we sign into outlook.com.

The File option on the left menu is redundant. We don’t need it. Pls have it removed permanently or have an option to disable it.

Absurd feature. Why would you need a File Option on the left pane. I don’t need it. Engineering team must be dumb to think of that.

Change the name of the new "Files" menu item. Rename this item
"Templates". By renaming, this will move this item to the end of
the menu list and it will be out of the way. This type of file or template menu item seems to be better left with Words or Excel not with Outlook email. -

There is now a group called "Files" (with "Word templates" and "Excel templates" under it) popping up on the right side of the Outlook screen. These were never there before and I want to get rid of them. They are a nuisance. The only thing that should be showing over there is my email folders. I have contacted the help desk and they say there is no way to hide them. What a terrible design! Users should at least be able to hide them.

PLEASE remove this asinine "Files" list in the left pane. Or at least give me the ability to kill it with fire!!

Why has this file folder appeared in left pane? It's irritating and looks messy.

Asinine programming. Let's program in a new useless folder but not program in the ability to remove it.
Who actually thinks having a folder on top of your inbox with old files is something that is needed? Please show me ANY other email service that has this feature that you thought was imperative to add

You implemented a new feature "Files" above the Folder that include the inbox and regular mail.
It serves no viable purpose. Finding attachments is easily done by sorting or searching. All it does is show up from and center above my mail so that I cannot see my mailboxes. I have to minimize the grouping just to see my folders.
It is asinine programming that needs to be reviewed and removed. There is no reason to have that grouping and it should be able to be removed/moved/hidden so that is does not impact the point of having hotmail which is CHECKING EMAIL. it should be able to be hidden or removed the way "favorites" can be.
At least the "Groups" folder shows up under the email, but these subgroups are completely unnecessary and a waste of programming.

OUTLOOK.COM now has a "FILES" tab which you can expand or minimize. Outlook needs a setting so the main view can be customized to our needs. When I go into outlook I go directly to folders for mail. The files tab is annoying and I don't need it. We should be able to choose what we see when we sign into outlook.com.

The new Files Folder...horrible idea! Please get rid of it!!
At a minimum...can you make it not default to OPEN...it's cumbersome, in the way...why right there for this feature...
BOO!!!!

I agree with everybody. I had this appear the other day, and it makes no sense since all of the items that 'appear there' have been deleted for quite some time. there are items listed that I deleted in 2017. It pops open every time I get into Outlook, and it is very bothersome. PLEASE make it GO AWAY!!! SOON

Get rid of the new "Files" folder you have put above my email folders.
Or, at least, rename "Files" to "Templates". That way it will move to the bottom below the "Groups" folder and down there it won't be so annoying....and, as it is, useless. -

I agree with the comments listed here. When I originally questioned its existence yesterday, the Outlook support people were not even aware of this folder. System created folders should be able to be relocated or removed completely if they do not meet the needs of the user. Please allow the user to, at the very least, move it to the bottom of the file list.

Just today the entry called "Files" in the navigation pane of Outlook Mail opens every time I open my email page. I can click it closed, but it will be open again the next time I open my email. Please allow the option to make it stay closed or move it to the bottom. It clutters up the folders portion of the panel with attachments that I have no need to see every time I open up my email. I am done with those attachments.
