Files menu EXPANDED?? Why?!!!!
Why Outlook opens with Files menu expanded??!! I don't want that everyone may seen it!!

Hi, thank you for your feedback! We were experimenting with this view, but decided not to keep it. You should see that the files menu has returned to the previous layout.
Thanks!
Colin

The 'files' feature is something I do NOT like! It clogs up the list, opens with the arrow down on attachments that I do not want to see and cannot get ride of. I move the arrow to the side to shorten the listings so I can see the folders I want to use, but it still takes up space and then when I close and reopen my email there is the 'files' arrow pointed down again! If people like this feature, at least let those of us that do not like or need either 'favorites' or 'files' move them to the bottom so they are out of the way.

Please stop "improving" Outlook with horrible ideas like this one! Please give us a way to keep the Files menu closed — or better still, to delete it altogether!

The Files folder that has automatically shown up is a useless folder and I want to be able to delete it (or place it elsewhere). Not only is the Files folder there, but it automatically opens every time I access email. Please allow the ability to remove or move it.

The new "Files" drop-down menu serves no logical purpose and should be removed or at least be moved to the very bottom of the sidebar where it wouldn't be in the way. Where it is now and the fact that it is automatically open every time I open Outlook only serves to waste valuable space and makes it impossible for me to see folders that I use regularly without manually closing the menu and then scrolling down through the sidebar which is a waste of my time, and Support has informed me that deleting or moving it myself is not possible. If someone ever needed to access any of the emails that contain these files, that could be accomplished with a simple search. And besides, these files have obviously been stored this way for years before this ridiculous menu was added and most people didn't even know, so how could it be viewed as a benefit to users after it contains literally thousands of emails that are impossible to manage because there is no search function WITHIN the menu and deleting them would require scrolling through thousands of emails and dealing with them one by one?

Please remove this feature, or at least let us customize it. We're running out of reasons to continue using your services.

Wondering why Outlook added a "Files" folder on the left pane (between "Favorites" and "Folders."
I don't want/need this and it shouldn't jsut be added. -

I'm seeing a new folder called "Files" on the left side of the interface and it looks like its grabbing file attachments from my emails. I contacted Support and they said that this is a new feature and it can't be deleted. I don't understand what purpose this folder serves. It's right above my other folders and it's taking up too much space. Can you please provide an option to remove it?

I’m surprised that the Engineering team could come up with such dumb feature that makes so many people dislike.

At a minimum allow me to collapse Files and make it stay collapsed.
It's expanded every time I open or refresh outlook.

This just appeared and there seems to be no way to get rid of it. I know what files are attached to my Emails and there is no reason to have a separate list (unless I specifically ask for it). Please remove this new "feature", or let us change the view to hide it. Sooner rather than later would be really nice.

One, it's a terrible feature. Two, the placement is abysmal. Three, no one likes it. Four, give us the ability to edit that left pane so we can decide where we want our folders to sit.

Agree, This feature does not need to be here. It's not pertinent to email usage. The search feature works just fine if a particular attached file needs to be found and those of us that use Excel and Word on a daily basis have it located where we can get to it more readily than our email and more than likely don't need a template. Please remove this superfluous feature.

The whole entire "Files" feature needs to be removed. It's not necessary. Considering all one would need to do to find a particular attached file would be a quick and simple search, then bammo, there it is. Also, I, in no way whatsoever, see what the point of having shortcuts to Excel or Word templates there is. Those of us that use those programs as often as they want us to probably already have one or both of already open, and if not open then in a place more readily available than email. This has to be one of the worst things they've thought up so far. More, in some cases, really is not better. Go back to a more simple and streamlined email format - all these extras just add clutter. It's like trying to dust when there are too many gewgaws on the shelf. And if developers just insanely INSIST on that being there, give the users the ability to edit that left pane so we can at least decide where it sits. It's an awful feature with worse placement.
