Files menu EXPANDED?? Why?!!!!
Why Outlook opens with Files menu expanded??!! I don't want that everyone may seen it!!

Hi, thank you for your feedback! We were experimenting with this view, but decided not to keep it. You should see that the files menu has returned to the previous layout.
Thanks!
Colin

Need to be able to turn off or at least reorder these dropdown menu's on the navigation panel, the files section is purely in the way.

Awful. Users should be allowed to disable or remove it.

New Files menu option on left hand side pane is not necessary. I think this should be removed.

'Files' folder is useless and looks terrible. Please add the option to remove it or move under folders.

your new files option is awful, cannot delete the files on it. please remove it.
and please at least inform us of any new changes, instead of confusing us. -

The web based Outlook.com in many ways is a simple and useful email application. I have used it as Hotmail for many years, however is has been a playground for amateur developers who seem to implement software changes in a helter-skelter manner. These disruptions are numerous and unpleasant to experience. The latest bad joke is the "Files" folder "feature" which cannot be removed or altered. I still cannot determine just what the developers are trying to achieve and what are their motivating factors.

How can you "Manage files" if there is no delete option available?
The "Templates" should be optional for those that want to use them.
Attachments and People that I thought were deleted now appear ??
I vote to reject this automatic file/template/attachment forced on us. -

Who approved this? It's a total waste and is not useful! I do not need files to show up on my sidebar, that I don't even need! **** Microsoft.

Do NOT Like the expanded File that shows Word,& Exel, also when I click on Manage files it brings up old email LOGS that has been deleted with attachments that are not there, there seems like their is no where to delete them it only brings up an edit

The "Files" tab is useless!!! And annoying!!! Give us an option because when I click on "Manage Files" there is no way to manage them!
Please give us the option to not have this!! It takes up valuable vertical space!!! -

There are now folders that appear in the Inbox column. This "improvement" looks ridiculous and takes up valuable horizontal spacing. GIVE US THE OPTION TO REMOVE ALL OF THESE STUPID PULL-DOWN "FOLDERS". OR JUST GIVE US THE OPTION OF HAVING A HOTMAIL LAYOUT. WTH, MS?

Get rid of this annoying new feature " Files " -- should be an option not something just added on without permission -- If you want to do something figure out how to block all the spam mail that you let through!

Please make the Files section collapsed by default, or provide an option to turn it off.

This "feature" is awful. Glad to see this group exists.

I also agree this is annoying, of no value and a waste of valuable left navigation. I don't want to see this open automatically with files that are of no value to me rather just sent by others. This really makes me wonder who thought of this idea and how did it get approved for release.

It is EXTREMELY annoying to have the Files menu expanded by default and filled with useless files. This should be "feature" that can be turned off and customizable to suit users' needs.
Right now it is a very annoying visual interference in trying to use email on outlook.com.

"Files" folder is making templates of letterhead of email I receive from businesses I deal with. What's that all about? How can I delete "Files" folder you put on the menu?

There should be an option to toggle the new "Files" feature in the left navigation pane on outlook.live.com . This takes up screen and left pane real estate that I won't use and I should have the option to turn this off.
