Gmail Feature in outlook web not working
gmail feature not working properly.
Added gmail account. icon never shows up in left. clicking the mail+ icon then changes URL to outlook.live.com/mail/1/inbox but no longer have access to Microsoft inbox.

Thanks for your feedback. We are looking into the icon issue.
Gmail will show up in a separate tab. Simply return to previous tab for access to your Microsoft account.

Why is it such a pain in the *** to add another Outlook acount. When in gmail it can be done with ones eyes close, not just gmail acounts, but outlooks ones too. Don't need to provide port info ****...it has the sense to get that **** for you. If you don't ******* know your own ******* email server address and port number then you are ******* morons

My issue follows the original post here. You click on "Add Gmail Account" and it will load, as expected, in a new tab. But it isn't showing the new account as an icon under the main outlook icon any longer (used to in the recent past). No amount of refreshing or anything shows the icon. Clicking the Add Gmail, starts you to the Google Authenticate screen again.

Clicking the Gmail account icon should not open a new tab, it should load the content in the same tab.
By opening in a new tab, you break the experience when the app is 'installed' as a PWA. In this instance, it's impossible to even get to the Gmail account in the installed app, since clicking the button switches to Edge/Chrome and opens a new tab.
As a general rule: same domain = current tab, different domain = new tab.

I like the promise of this feature a lot but as others have stated, some work with the integration needs to be done. A Gmail icon in the left pane to quickly switch acccounts would be useful.
Would it also be possible to allow for this functionality without having to switch to a new tab? Make it more like desktop Outlook?

This is still occurring, the Outlook seems to suggest that there should be a tab. Gmail view doesn't have any tabs. To switch between the two I have to change the url between https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/inbox (outlook) and https://outlook.live.com/mail/1/inbox (gmail).

gmail premium feature for adding gmail email and calendar to outlook.com doesn't work

As a premium user, I was recently offered the option to add a new account through an icon in the sidebar, or use the "Add account" link under "Additional Mailboxes" in premium feature settings. However, both links just open up a new tab for Outlook and I was never prompted to start linking my Gmail account. I hope this bug gets fixed ASAP.

The new Outlook - Gmail sync feature doesn't work:
1) When I set up the integration, a new tab opens (https://outlook.live.com/mail/1/inbox) where I can only see my Gmail emails, while the original tab only shows Outlook emails.
2) In the "new" tab (https://outlook.live.com/mail/1/inbox) there is no left pane with the account switcher, and in the "original" tab there's only the Outlook icon (no Gmail icon).
3) When I close Outlook (both tabs) and then I open the website again in a few minutes, I can only see my Outlook emails, and if I want to access Gmail I have to do all the set up again, with the problems mentioned before.

When adding a Gmail account, a new tab opens where I see gmail emails, but in the original tab I can only see my Outlook accounts. Also the new account picker in the left 1)disappears in the new tab - Gmail- 2) and only has the outlook icon in the original tab.
Also, when I refresh the tab or I close it then I open it again in a few minutes, I can only see Outlook emails, and I have to repeat all the set up process to see my Gmail emails again, which then gives the problems I described earlier.

Gmail shows up in a new tab, however it does not show the gmail icon and you can only add one account. The add new account button brings me to the linked gmail account.

When I use the Microsoft Edge that comes with Windows 10, this works as you describe. Gmail opens in a separate tab (not as useful as all mail in one window). But when I use the Microsoft Chromium Edge Insider Beta, I have the same problem that this user is reporting. New tab opens, but it's still my Outlook.com email and my Gmail never appears.
