Recover deleted outlook.com aliases
Users should have a period of time - a week would be enough for many people - to undelete aliases that were deleted from accounts (often by kids on xbox.) When an account is closed, users have 60 days to change their mind - they should have a similar option when aliases are deleted.
For an example of the problem this will solve, see this thread, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/my-hotmail-account-was-deleted-while-my-son-was/2250b864-3712-4813-b736-e896e8146c25

I lost my 20-year old hotmail/outlook email account via a mistake made by my son on his xbox. I SO wish there was a way to get it back and it seems unbelievable as well as very unfair to be told that it’s impossible to do so. Microsoft—please help me/us out!

I completely agree. It seems all email companies has features like this except Outlook. I have been emailing them about mistakenly removed alias that caused my account to be deleted and all they could say is : they are sorry... I have used this email for more than 12 years... this ridiculous and disappointing from Microsoft

I've been fighting with Microsoft since March to recover my alias Hotmail account that I have had for 10 years. I've been given the run around numerous times, a different or no answer each time I call. It's ridiculous and makes me want to never use a Microsoft product again. Please Microsoft, do something about this and let us have our email account back.
this alias function is very misleading.
i have lost my long-used hotmail account!
**** microsoft, **** stupid ms technicians
the ms technicians are ruining the name of bill gates and microsoft.!
PLEASE MICROSOFT! You have to add the same waiting period for aliases that you do for whole accounts!!! It's so ridiculous - think about it, you have a waiting period for account deletions but not for an alias that is just as important?? This makes NO SENSE!!! Someone hacking an account could delete a lot of important information without even deleting the entire account!
microsoft might help
come back all is forgiven, i liked my account but it changed from a hotmail to an outlook one is that because microsoft no longer supports that domain please?
mine was an accident yesterday and cannot get it back. had to set up another alias but really need the original account which by the way is still mine on my computers.

Same thing just happened to me. All I wanted to do was change my xbox live email address. At no point did it notify me that un-linking my hotmail account after adding a different email address to xboxlive would result in my hotmail account being deleted Microsoft is officially the worse cloud solution in my eyes. I had been using that account for nearly 25 years. Long before xbox live existed.
I don't know of another email service that uses this heartless, inconsiderate practice of auto-deleting email accounts. Microsoft is a bad joke, and I can't wait till someone knocks them off the throne in terms of OS for PC's.

This is ********! I will not ever use Hotmail again!
My son just deleted my wife's email on his Xbox one. Now she can't recover it! Just says email does not exist! She has had it for 15 years and all our banking, credit cards, apps, contacts, ECT ECT is gone. We are well with in the 60 day grace period infact less then a week. This is a complete disaster! Most times kids need an adults email to get accounts so this must happen appt. Need fix now!

The system should offer the option of redirecting emails to a main account. Also, let, users retrieve accounts linked to the deleted email.
