Rules for junk
PLEASE add rules for junk mail. I often get mail in my junk mail that is actually useful, so I look in there often. Lately, I've been getting SO MANY phishing emails from Save Yourself trying to "blackmail" me into sending them bitcoin, and it automatically goes to my junk folder, but I want anything with the words "Save Yourself" to be deleted so I don't have to look at it. Their emails contain an old password of mine, and their emails are all different, so even if I block one, I'll get another email from a different address in about an hour. I'm so sick of it. It is ridiculous that rules cannot be applied to your junk folder.

Agreed, we should be able to use rules for junk email, not just our Inbox. I receive a lot of spam from 'newsletter@' everyday. They are not newsletters in the traditional sense and I did not subscribe to them. Can't block them using newsletter@*.com. Likewise I'm now getting spam from senders ending in .de. No way to block them either. While these are going to the Junk folder, I still have to wade through them to find legitimate emails.

WHY AM I RECEIVING SPAM/JUNK EMAILS WITH NO RECIPIENT LISTED ON THE TO: ADDRESS BAR? PLEASE FIX.
Could someone please stop these spam messages? I want to stop ALL spam messages that are not on my safe senders list and blocked. Please help me to get a tool to block the domains of these spam emails. Thanks

The junk mail rules, whatever they are, DOES NOT WORK. Please, let me decide myself what is junk mail and not, instead you the programme sorting out useful mail and me having to add EVERY ONE OF THEM to a list of exceptions. I'm so tired of this. I'm a grown up, I can vote and make other decisions for myself, and don't need paternalism from my e-mail provider.

I fully agree with fore mentioned writer. I am haunted every day by bitcoin especially, but also by all sorts of mails using contacts from my addressbook. Blocking does not work. What can I do and what does Microsoft do about this?

fully agree with most of the complains about JUNK-filter not working.
I can't find any reaction from Microsoft or a sign that they will improve??? -

why do you have a junk folder? all mail goes into junk even emails identified as from trusted senders!! why is this?

I think Outlook needs to face the fact that their filters do not work. If a user were to use their blocked senders and domains tool. It does not work either. Why? Because only so many spam email addresses can be blocked at any one time. Then when it gets full the oldest gets excessed back into the pool to come back to the user time after time. People need to comment and vote on the idea close to the idea that sounds like it might work for you. Yes you will be punished for speaking up, like I have and most likely they will, like me, delete your posts. Microsoft, this is a forum for you to hear our complaints and our ideas to make your product better not stay the same.

to the junk file. -

I don't really care about rules like that as long as the messages are not going to my normal inbox. My issue is a bit the opposite, messages I want going to my junk folder. The real problem is that I HAVE MAXED OUT ON SAFE SENDERS! There should be ABSOLUTELY NO LIMIT on adding to safe senders!

Pretty sad that this has so many replies, so many examples, so many comparisons to Gmail, and yet here we are with no solution.
The fact I am here and commenting is all I need to add - everything else is covered off in the earlier comments by others.
Good on you Microsoft.

Too much junk mail, rules do not work at all. Junk seems worse if I report phishing.
I get no junk mail in my Gmail account or my Blueyonder account.

Ever since Microsoft took over Office365 the email is ridiculous. I am just like the rest of the complaints on this thread. I receive tons of junk mail and most of important emails go to my junk folder so I have looking there first and today my junk folder is gone! so now I won't be getting the emails I really need. Come on Microsoft, get it together!!!!!!!

I am getting over a dozen junk mails a day, and it seems Outlook mail rules have no effect on deleting them. Most of them have the following in common:
1. They are from "newletter" @ some domain.
2. The message source/header contains "does not designate permitted sender hosts".So I would like to set up a rule that does a Delete when "Sender address includes" "newsletter" and "Message header includes" "does not designate permitted sender hosts".
The latter message seems to always appear in the message source/header for spam senders.
It seems most of the spam I am receiving these days uses an address in the form of "newsletter" @ some domain.

My examples are capturing who sent them and at what times. By adding words, spaces, using different domains these spamers (and they have to be spammers) because any ads should be on the side of my email box. While the ads are on the side they are not targeted to my email account as the examples are. The examples are addressed to my email address. Knowing Outlook would never allow ads to be directly addressing me or my email address, the only thing these junk emails can be are spam. The need to block domains and not the individual junk emails or spam is to block the senders domain and not the fake ones. THAT OUTLOOK HAS BEEN HAVING USERS DO. More examples below.

I want to be able to disable my Junk folder entirely!
I can't check junk on my phone easily, and I don't always think to check on my computer. Most of the time I remove things from junk rather than delete or leave them. Even the stuff I get that is considered junk is stuff I can usually unsubscribe from.
