Too much junk / spam: Junk folder becoming to inundated
20 year user moving to new platform. Flooded my junk box with advertisements now I have to search for any emails that may be of value to me that don't automatically filter to my inbox. It's a shame.
After more than 25 years with this email account, I am now overwhelmed with junk mail...more than 33 in half an hour. Until less than a month ago there was a very effective filter making this account very professional and reliable. The nature of the emails is disturbing in content. Some of them are making it into my inbox. What has happened. If there is no way to fix this, I will have to close my account as this has become not the kind of service I want to be associated with. It no longer feels secure.

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN FOUR DAYS, FEKN OUTLOOK HAS ON ITS OWN MOVED AN IMPORTANT, FLAGGED MESSAGE FROM MY "INBOX" INTO "JUNK". COMPLETELY ON ITS OWN, WITH NO PROMPTING FROM ME. EVERY WEEK FKING OUTLOOK FINDS NEW WAYS TO BE A STEAMING, STINKING PILE OF ****. F/OUTLOOK!!!

Dear Outlook Support, Stop insulting our intelligence. Previous versions of Hotmail and Outlook mail had spam filtering that worked. This is the 21st Century. Maybe the New! Improved! Outlook mail is a time-machine tback to 1990.

Thanks for your response, Carl. I sincerely apologize for the ordeal. I couldn’t agree more with you that unwanted emails sometimes could really be annoying and if there’s a way to stop them permanently, indeed it could make our email experience much better. Our Engineers are continuously working to find a way on how we can improve our email filtering. I just want to mention that it is a major problem that all emails provider is encountering and none of us can guarantee a 100% spam emails though we understand the need for having this feature to control the situation.
If unwanted emails are routed in your Junk email folder, that is a clear indication that our Filtering system is working. Outlook.com filtering system is designed to make sure that suspicious/unwanted emails won’t be delivered to your inbox hence they will be quarantined in your Junk Folder and automatically be deleted on a certain period of time. Hence, no additional steps require on your end.
In addition, if these emails resides in your Junk email folder, their account reputation gets lower each time and Outlook.com learns by this behavior and in such time it will be blocked permanently, however, this process may take some time though and we hope for your understanding.
We would like to confirm if these spam emails are going to your Inbox or Junk folder?
We’d also like to ask for your patience and understanding that we are doing everything we can to fight junk/spam emails on our end.
Please keep me posted so we can update our course of action.
I receive more then 150 junk emails every day. There's no way to block the sender. I do it every time but it is useless. It' a big shame
I was gonna add my comment regarding the flood of junk mail but I guess it will not do any good. Already have a Gmail and will migrate folks to it. Sorry hotmail.
My emails get taken off my screen any time IT wants to do so and IT will not let me correct my work. You must clean up your system. Can you delete IT off your system?
Suddenly receiving 50+ spams per day, Mainly from US sources. This is making my account unusable so despite 20 years plus of Hotmail I shall probably have to change my email provider

You are going to have to pull your socks up on junk mail and allow people to set their e-mail settings to the level they want. You used to do this but dont anymore. I dont want to go through loads of explicit e-mails every day. Sort it out.

what are you lot seeking to do , is it to disable customers accounts with all your garbage , hard hard are you making it for customers to access their incoming main and how hard is it to change a fekn password with out s millions fekn questions and sites , at this rate you will be sued for how many problems you are causing victims of your sabotage actions
xx: "we need this simple solution, make 'blocked sender and domains' work on junk folder also to actually delete blocked messages"
This is 100% correct.
Better yet - provide junk folder rules based on name, not email address or domain. Blocking randomly generated email addresses & domains is futile. I spend 50% of my email time blowing away spam.
1) report as phishing. 2) find in deleted items & block. 3) go to subscription list & block. BTW why do phishing/spam emails default to subscription list? Do you even support outlook.com anymore?
Phishing and spam management is terrible - possibly the worst of all available platforms. I've been told to move to Gmail. Does Microsoft wish to remain competitive? Stop supporting outlook.com if not. This must be a common gripe – are you listening?
I flagged 43 junk emails this morning that were phishing emails.
43 in less than 12 hours since I last flagged phishing emails in my junk folder. 43!!
I flagged double yesterday, and had none in my junk folder by the time I went to bed. That's unacceptable! they're the same exact subject line, why can't you block those AND flag as phishing so I no longer receive emails that are inappropriate and disgusting frankly. It might make me take the leap to another email server after having hotmail as my main email server since it started!
we need this simple solution, make 'blocked sender and domains' work on junk folder also to actually delete blocked messages
This is extremely annoying and useless. Stop the spam...do your job!
I am getting SOOOO frustrated with a hundred junk mail a day even though I have blocked them multiple times with the same email. Very close to close account and get a different email server.
I pay to keep advertisements out of my email account yet my junk mail is flooded with all kinds of **** and ****. On a daily basis I am receiving over 50 items. I block these emails but this does nothing. You need to find a way to fix this before you end up loosing loyal users.

******* Outlook actually removed an important message from my "Inbox", that I had flagged for future review, and slammed it into "Junk"! And in the past week, my "Inbox" has played host to one message from "Michelle Fry" saying "we had to talk again" (I don't know Michelle Fry from Adam's Housecat), and one from the "Department of the U.S. FBIs" telling me I had "won the Lottery". ******* Outlook has been, is, and always will be a USELESS PIECE OF ****!
OUTLOOK DOES NOT LET US BLOCK ANYTHING FROM GOING INTO OUR JUNK MAIL. WONT EVEN TRY AFTER OUR MANY COMPLAINTS AND SUGGESTIONS. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING. AND ALL I HEAR HEAR OUTLOOK IS IT IS COMPLETED, MERGED OR WE HAVE MAID SOME CHANGES THAT MAY HELP IN SOME CASES...REALLY WHAT KIND OF AN ANSWER IS THAT.
THEY HAVE NOT IMPROVED ANYTHING FROM OUR SUGGESTIONS, IT DOES NOT APPEAR THEY PLAN TO EITHER.
I HAVE ASKED TO BE ABLE TO BLOCK ADDRESS, DOMAINS, SUB DOMAINS AND SUBJECTS. ALL I HEAR IS EXCUSES IF ANYTHING. LOOK BELOW AT ALL THE COMMENTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES.
NOW I CANNOT SEE WHO THE EMAIL IS COMING FROM UNLESS I OPEN IT. CANNOT GET AN ADDRESS TO KNOW IT IS FROM THE SAME PLACE THAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO BLOCK OR REPORT FOR MONTHS REPEATEDLY OR SOMEONE NEW. OR SOMETHING SAFE.

Block does not seem to work. I receive at least 75 junk mail messages daily. I now check all and UNcheck the messages that are actually for me. This is bad. If I block a sender repeatedly-with the same email address- why is it getting through??
