Too much junk / spam: Junk folder becoming to inundated
20 year user moving to new platform. Flooded my junk box with advertisements now I have to search for any emails that may be of value to me that don't automatically filter to my inbox. It's a shame.
There are literally hundreds of spam emails hitting both my junk folder and my inbox every day. Your spam filters are totally broken and Outlook.com is becoming unusable.
Getting ready to delete this account and find a better free email service.
Fix those spams!!! Do volunteers (who think they are developers) work for Hotmail?
Same problem here. I get an average of 15 spams an hour. This started a month ago. I've been a loyal hotmail user for 25 years.
Same as everyone else, my problems came in two waves. Back in May to mid-October, I got a rash of about 20-25 spam e-mails in my junk folder every day, not really a huge problem but I was only getting 3-5 per week before that. Actually started to decrease by October and thought it would go away. But by mid-November the number was back up and has grown consistently to the point of 250-300 every day now. Will have no choice but switch to gmail first of next year.
As far as e-mail ending up with spammers, I don't know about the accusations of MS giving them out but I had three coincidences with the two wave and wonder if any of them account for this:
1) Downstairs apartment neighbor has been nothing but a problem and is a techie, I think he may have somehow signed me up to be spammed....he's very passive aggressive, complex is going to refuse to offer him lease extension, and would not put past him.
2) Three days after I gave my e-mail to Wayfair to notify me if an item became available, I started getting the first wave of spams.
3) Right after I made a trip to Las Vegas and signed up for the MGM Mlife offering the spam started going up every day.
108 unwanted unsolicited emails today, many ****** in nature. Why isn't there a way to stop this garbage? I guess I could just abandon this email account. My other accounts don't have this issue.
You have knowingly dumped spam into my account. You are trying to coerce me into paying your high monthly fee to not get junk mail. This is disgusting behavior.
Much of the spam is clearly phishing. You absolutely know this yet you send it on to me. I have used Hotmail for decades. This treatment is as disgusting a corporate policy as I can imagine.
It is irresponsible and violates our trust in your responsibilities. Have you no sense of Aidos?
If you want people to pay then make the fee cheap and everyone will. But this slimy behavior entrenches resistance to your manipulations. You are embodying corporate greed. This is very disturbing and threatening. I have entrusted years of important communications and the reliance for their safety with you and you are scaring me that you will do something for profit that will casue me a huge loss.
This behavior is the worst America has to offer.

To the Outlook engineers/programmers. I am a retired software test analyst/UAT, I'm giving this suggestion for free ;) You are having loads of complaints about the Junk folder being inundated with phishing mails, no matter how many times you try blocking them they just change the Hieroglyphics (number and letter jumbles) within the email address and just keep inundating the junk/inbox. My suggestion to you is to allow 'wildcards' to be used to stop these emails.
e.g. Support@A3hd.de Support@s9e9kd.de etc. etc. all you need to do is allow a 'block' to be applied to Support@input 2 asterix here.de the two asterix being the wildcard which will ignore the hieroglyphics thereby freeing up the junk mail which you will then be able to check to see if any genuine emails have inadvertently ended up there, as it stands I do not have the time or patience to sift the literally hundreds of daily junk I, and thousands of others, are receiving.

Seriously. MS is just turning into a "criminal spam" dumping ground. The number of super-suspicious junk messages that are masking Amazon or Paypal or other major companies is RIDICULOUS!!!! MS does NOTHING to stop it. I hope your company experiences some hardcore karma.
Microsoft must be profiting from delivering spam to it's users, while it is putting it's users at risk. Microsoft sells ads for their pages, so the more we look at our pages the more money Microsoft makes from advertisers! That is why Microsoft is delivering so much spam email to it users. Microsoft is violating the Service Agreement by helping spammers and putting it's users at risk. Microsoft needs to stop delivering these KNOWN spam mails immediately! Microsoft knows the mail is spam because the domains in the message sources are fake domains and the IP addresses are not complete. Microsoft also knows these are spams based on their content. Microsoft should not be delivering this spam to it's users. Microsoft should be kicking this spam mail back to the sender the second it hits it's servers! STOP SPAMMING YOUR CUSTOMERS MICROSOFT!

PLEASE, REMOVE THIS "THE NEW OUTLOOK" FULL OF JUNK AND ALL THE TROUBLES WITHIN IT. ONCE MORE: BRING BACK "HOTMAIL"! ONLY, WE, THAT HAVE BEEN FOR WHILE DO NOT NEED ALL THIS "MICROSOFT INTEGRATION" WE ONLY WANT A RELIABLE SERVICE AS IT WAS "HOTMAIL"! PLEASE!!

is there anyone out there reading my messages? very inappropriate ****** invitations are clogging up my junk mail folder, over 20 per day, blocking doesn't work any more. Sometimes important emails end up in my junk mail folder so I have to go through all the spam to see that I am not deleting anything important. I always had the greatest respect for Hotmail and have used it for many years. Do something. Are you people being paid to post this spam now?...please answer
Totally agree. I get about 500 (!!) junk emails per day and have to sort through them to pull out emails that don't belong there. This is completely out of hand and outlook needs to find a solution. I've been on hotmail for 20 years and am about to jump ship.

92 spam in 1 hour, And this is every hour, I do believe our Email addys have been sold to advertisers!! Just awful, I guess at this point it doesn't really matter that you are asking for my Email addy to leave a comment... It's all yours anyway! JUNK JUNK JUNK!!
I need help with the junk folder, it doesnt work and the pishing report or block option neither. Please help with all the content that come from @appspot
Microsoft needs to be more proactive about filtering out spam! I keep flagging similar mails as phishing. update those filters already!
