Too much junk / spam: Junk folder becoming to inundated
20 year user moving to new platform. Flooded my junk box with advertisements now I have to search for any emails that may be of value to me that don't automatically filter to my inbox. It's a shame.
To much junk. Already switched to other user. Trying to figure out how to exit this site
To the Outlook engineers/programmers. I am a retired software test analyst/UAT, I'm giving this suggestion for free ;) You are having loads of complaints about the Junk folder being inundated with phishing mails, no matter how many times you try blocking them they just change the Hieroglyphics (number and letter jumbles) within the email address and just keep inundating the junk/inbox. My suggestion to you is to allow 'wildcards' to be used to stop these emails.
e.g. Support@A3hd.de Support@s9e9kd.de etc. etc. all you need to do is allow a 'block' to be applied to Support@input 2 asterix here.de the two asterix being the wildcard which will ignore the hieroglyphics thereby freeing up the junk mail which you will then be able to check to see if any genuine emails have inadvertently ended up there, as it stands I do not have the time or patience to sift the literally hundreds of daily junk I, and thousands of others, are receiving.

Seriously. MS is just turning into a "criminal spam" dumping ground. The number of super-suspicious junk messages that are masking Amazon or Paypal or other major companies is RIDICULOUS!!!! MS does NOTHING to stop it. I hope your company experiences some hardcore karma.
Microsoft must be profiting from delivering spam to it's users, while it is putting it's users at risk. Microsoft sells ads for their pages, so the more we look at our pages the more money Microsoft makes from advertisers! That is why Microsoft is delivering so much spam email to it users. Microsoft is violating the Service Agreement by helping spammers and putting it's users at risk. Microsoft needs to stop delivering these KNOWN spam mails immediately! Microsoft knows the mail is spam because the domains in the message sources are fake domains and the IP addresses are not complete. Microsoft also knows these are spams based on their content. Microsoft should not be delivering this spam to it's users. Microsoft should be kicking this spam mail back to the sender the second it hits it's servers! STOP SPAMMING YOUR CUSTOMERS MICROSOFT!
2109 junk emails in 9 days. No tools to deal with this assault. Migrating to gmail
"20 year user moving to new platform"... i am not there yet but at least 10 year with HOTMAIL was good! I STILL BELIEVE THERE IS SOMEONE RESPONSIBLE OVER THERE!! PLEASE, REMOVE THIS "THE NEW OUTLOOK" FULL OF JUNK AND ALL THE TROUBLES WITHIN IT. ONCE MORE: BRING BACK "HOTMAIL"! ONLY, WE, THAT HAVE BEEN FOR WHILE DO NOT NEED ALL THIS "MICROSOFT INTEGRATION" WE ONLY WANT A RELIABLE SERVICE AS IT WAS "HOTMAIL"! PLEASE!!

is there anyone out there reading my messages? very inappropriate ****** invitations are clogging up my junk mail folder, over 20 per day, blocking doesn't work any more. Sometimes important emails end up in my junk mail folder so I have to go through all the spam to see that I am not deleting anything important. I always had the greatest respect for Hotmail and have used it for many years. Do something. Are you people being paid to post this spam now?...please answer
Totally agree. I get about 500 (!!) junk emails per day and have to sort through them to pull out emails that don't belong there. This is completely out of hand and outlook needs to find a solution. I've been on hotmail for 20 years and am about to jump ship.

92 spam in 1 hour, And this is every hour, I do believe our Email addys have been sold to advertisers!! Just awful, I guess at this point it doesn't really matter that you are asking for my Email addy to leave a comment... It's all yours anyway! JUNK JUNK JUNK!!
I need help with the junk folder, it doesnt work and the pishing report or block option neither. Please help with all the content that come from @appspot
Microsoft needs to be more proactive about filtering out spam! I keep flagging similar mails as phishing. update those filters already!

Clearly Microsoft/Outlook/Hotmail are getting some benefit from all the junk sent from *.de, so we can't expect any help from there. Must we move to another platform? Perhaps that's the point, Hotmail is trying to get rid of us!
i agree, can't click once to get people

I got 100 phising email daily with address senior@<random number>.com and support@<random number>.de
This never happened with the old hotmail.
Reporting as phising email also didn't work, blocking also useless since they use random numbers address.
Can this be fixed ?
FYI there will not be a sufficient workaround to this. The only option that Outlook/Outlook.com support will offer is to increase your spam filter settings, however all that does is just redirect all suspected spam to your Junk folder - which in turn will eventually include real emails. You'll get to the point where you have to sift through hundreds/thousands of junk emails to find those 1-2 real emails so they aren't lost forever.
You are not able to block entire TLDs, so you can only rely on blocking individual domains. However, Outlook has a limit of (I believe) 1,024 domains that you can block. Since most of these spam messages are from spoofed domains, you cannot block them all.
For instance, I just saw over 20 emails from the same spoofed domain. If I were to block all 20 of these domains, I would still get 20 from newly spoofed domains, but I would have taken up 20 of my 1,024 block limit.
The only solution that will solve this is to switch to a different email provider. Changing my email associated with every single account/membership/website is going to be an enormous pain **********, but if I stick with Outlook, the quantity of junk I receive daily will just increase and increase.
We are merely weeks away from 2020, and Microsoft is light years behind Gmail in this capacity. It's absolutely shameful. Get your **** together, Microsoft.

New Outlook is nothing new. MS=Multitudes of SPAM. Until they battle the spam deluge, I won't even consider them as worthy of my radar

I am getting over 200 junk emails every day on my hotmail account. Even if I block them all there is no change as the unique email addresses are used only once to flood me with junk. I need to be able to control this or find a different email platform. What can I do and WHAT can you do to correct this situation. There are literallly hundreds of subscriptions on my email account that I never subscribed to nor can eliminate and unsubscribe from as it is not allowed. This needs to be corrected ...
There is a clearly something going on with a few domains: "Support@*.de" and "*@*.dosinfo" -- unfortunately, there is no mechanism for using regular expressions on emails and/or rules in a flexible enough pattern. Clearly, someone is generating domains on-the-fly because they look like hash keys. They all look like normal marketing emails.
The return-to and reply-to are different. The unsubscribe buttons appear to be phishing attempts.
This could use some concerted attention. Thank you.

It seems every way I try to keep the junk folder clean there is some specific reason I cannot do it. I cannot run rules against the junk folder. I cannot block email address that contain only specific parts so when spammers just change their domain the blocking does not good. If I create a rule off of a specific email address I can run it but as soon as I edit it to say contains only a part of that email, the run option disappears. I only block domains. I cannot bock something if part of that domain is in the domain so again as spammers just constantly add random domains, I am left with litteraly just under 1000 emails a day in my junk folder, which I have to sift through because I cannot turn off spam filtering and Hotmail thinks some legitimate emails should go to spam so I have to hunt for them to make sure I didn't miss something important. It is almost like they do this on purpose. What is the end game here?
