Too much junk / spam: Junk folder becoming to inundated
20 year user moving to new platform. Flooded my junk box with advertisements now I have to search for any emails that may be of value to me that don't automatically filter to my inbox. It's a shame.
You know who could have run point on this issue and probably have solved it? Terry Zink. He ran the "Terry Zink Security Talk blog" at Microsoft for many years, with a specialty of fighting spam, phishing, etc.
Unfortunately, he moved on to Facebook about a year and a half ago, though he left several points of contact in his last post:
I wonder if one or more of us could reach out to him, as I expect that after working at MS for so long he has many contacts in the right places there. I've tried on Twitter with no luck so far.
The past month I have been getting inundated with nothing but absolute junk mail. ENOUGH! You used to have in the Rules setting an option to type in a rule and for the action, it was "Delete Forever". Bring that back! Even better, make it a combo function to "Delete and Block".

This is happening way too much. There is just too much junk getting into the Inbox.
Your junk mail detecting algorithm needs massive improvement.
And no, I will not check the box to receive email in the Inbox from people in my address book only.
Many people have been complaining about this for years now. Why are you not taking any action?
I've gone through 52 PAGES of comments (Ok. I skipped every other page.) Not once did I see any response from Microsoft. I don't think they're paying attention to this Uservoice thingy anymore. It is too bad. I am trying to get unhitched from my ISP, and the alternatives, gmail and yahoo, are just too eager to get my info.
I will have to change to Gmail now I guess after being a loyal Hotmail user, for approximately 1.5 decades. The spam has now infiltrated my regular Hotmail In Box like crazy in the last week or so. I was already sick of the hundreds of emails each day in the regular Junk mail folder this past year that I still had to scan through as a few of the blogs I read would end up in there. Just a couple of years ago I barely received any Junk mail at all! It is very sad.

You don't block spam for third party clients. Kind of petty if you ask me.

I'm getting well over 400 spam emails, every month. not good enough and nothing seems to be getting done about it
Junk that has become enough of a problem to complain about... Stop them or give us the ability to block domains and just email addresses. EG: foreing8.xyz
If it says 'AsianLady' in the header, it is 100% spam. Update your filters, and don't even distribute this junk, please!

I'm noticing that spam email senders are rotating their obviously false domains so even if you block them, they just rotate to another false domain, and the body contains no text, but rather images that look like text making it harder for filters to read the content. The amount of spam getting through has increased tremendously in the past few weeks.

Yesterday i’ve switched almost all my relations to my Gmail account.
Outlook is now my top spam and scam trash folder!

People/CO'S. trying to sell something. Using E-mails instead of an AD. Also I object to those which are lewd and ***. They
should be BLOCKED , NOT PUT IN ONES JUNK FOLDER. Which Children can access. Please don't accommodate this.

Honestly, people, how many times do I have to "block" or "report" the same SPAM emails before you take any action to stop it? I have been reporting it for a few years now, and ZERO has been done; if anything, the amount of SPAM has increased, and the "blocking" tools are apparently just something meant to waste your time and give the illusion that you have any control over your email account. A multi-billion dollar company can't say they don't have the resources to stop the SPAM. In my view, maybe the SPAMMERS are paying Microsoft to let it get through... why else have there been so many complaints, and nothing done?
Please Please fix this spam email problem. Scrolling through hundreds a day to find any real email, is a joke

you need to fix this ****!! when i block spam messages, you have them being moved to my trash folder. they need to go away.
again and again and agin. blocked email continues to fill the junk. and now my regular mail is now going into junk
