Hotmail/Outlook- Mail > Subscriptions > I can not delete newsletters I did not subscribe to
Under my settings>mail>subscriptions - there is a ton of newsletters/junk email/spam that I never added and can not delete. I don't know how they got there and how can i remove them.
No matter what I've tried to delete these it doesn't work - spammers latched themselves this way?
We’ve finished the development work and will be rolling out a new version of the subscription manager over the next few weeks!
You may see that your subscriptions are deleted and the subscription manager is reset. We’re doing this so that we can purge all of the incorrect subscriptions from your list.
The subscriptions went away for a while, towards the end of 2019 but now they are building again in 2020..
TURN THIS FEATURE OFF or give users the ability to completely turn it off! I've been getting inundated with spam for the last couple of months and didn't know why. I have a ton of "subscriptions" to blatant spammers. The lastest being multiple random character email@example.com.
How the heck do you guys roll out stuff like this without vetting it first? And then when you see folks complaining that it is allowing spammers to add themselves, thus bypassing your safe filtering, months later it still isn't fixed.
As a paying O365 customer, yeah, this makes me want to consider switching to Google or another service.

The new version from November does not eliminate the spam emails. I still receive dozens every day. The problem extends back months into 2019 and late 2018.
Are you still planning to address the issue, or should users migrate away from Outlook and Hotmail?
I am trying to unsubscribe to a email that I got ..I have hundred of emails from them..firstname.lastname@example.org. please help me get rid of them.
Ability to delete subscriptions from outlook.com email settings.
I have a problem with my junk folder, i can delete my spam it just keeps coming back
Please include the option to turn off Subscriptions!!!
it is a fraud that Microsoft allows automatic delivery of junk email. Very sad state of affairs for a software leader. Extremely disappointed
A fat lot of good this did. All of the garbage that was coming as subscriptions is still ending up in my junk mail with no way to keep it out. For whatever reason, rules and blocking don't work. I get 200 to 300 junk mails/phishing a day. I have to look through this to make sure something important didn't go to junk. Why aren't rules and blocking working?
STOP ADDING SUBSCRIPTIONS
This is by far the worst implementation of a feature that I have ever seen. If most of the people commenting here, truly understood how this feature actually works, they would stop using Outlook out of total disgust. I stumbled across this post, looking for a way to turn it and the annoying alerts, at the top of my emails, OFF. The people getting more spam after using this feature, is due to them using this feature... smh
I wrote a rule to delete emails with "SilverSingles" and also blocked the individual email. My subscriptions emptied a few days ago so I was hopeful, but, sure enough, SilverSingles turned up in my subscriptions. The issue is not fixed and I'm getting about a hundred junk emails a day. Rules don't seem to apply to junk, which doesn't help.
I have "unsubscribed" so many times for one website, yet I keep getting notifications from them in my Other email box. Is this an Outlook directed question or is it a problem with the businesses website? so frustrating. I have no idea how I ever got on a mailing list in the first place.
Thank you! My subscriptions list has been wiped clean of all the spammers so that only my legitimate subscriptions have been left on the list. Job well done!
gee thanks, so now my legitimate subscriptions are gong to be deleted along with the illegitimate ones ? talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater.... do I have to copy/ paste all the legitimate ones into a list so that I know which ones I will have to re-subscribe to? what a huge time consuming hassle. WHY DON'T YOU STOP SCAMMERS FROM BEING ABLE TO SIGN US UP FROM SUBSCRIPTIONS WE DIDNT AUTHORIZE ?? TELL US WHEN THAT IS DONE THEN WE CAN JUST MANUALLY BLOCK WHAT WE DONT WANT THEN THAT SHOULD BE ***THE END*** OF THIS ISSUE.
Got a message that this was fixed, but you havent sone ****! I’m still receiving massive bs emails a day. Still blocking and marking as “junk mail”, but surprisingly they’re still coming. Cleared my subscriptions too and also a no go. This is getting very irritating 😠
the spam i've been getting lately is insane!! I've been using Hotmail since first time i've used a computer many, many years ago and am now debating deleting my account it has gotten so bad, i can't keep up with it. i didn't check it for a couple of days a few weeks ago and there was over 200 spam emails!!
This is business as usual for the do nothing Outlook.com Moderator.
I delete , and block, delete and permanently delete again and again and the next day I there they are again! emails from last month!!!!
You send ALL my mail to junk, I creating a rule to go to inbox and saying ''I trust this sender'' AND THEY ARE STILL IN JUNK! and they won't let you create a rule again because there already is one!! But they STILL end up in junk!!
You have a stupid rule that I have to ask my bank and credit card co. to jump through your stupid hoops to stop them going to junk!! MY BANKS for God's sake!! WHAT MAKES YOU DECIDE MY BANKING IS JUNK!!! They ALL say ''from safe sender''!! THAT IS IDIOTIC!! Now I HAVE to go to my junk EVERY DAY!!! I thought the purpose of junk was so you didn't have to see all the spam ans Phishing ****!!
And every time you do an ''update'' it turns out to be one more ''*********'' to your users. They only ***** thing up more
IF I COULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO TRANSFER MY HOTMAIL TO ANOTHER E MAIL ACCOUNT I HAVE HAD FOR 25 YRS, I WOULD HAVE BEEN GONE YEARS AGO!!
Can you all make sure that no subscriptions are signed up for that we specifically did NOT approve-going forward?
Can you create a link to delete and report as spam if something gets through?
Can you make an option to report a domain name as spam and block automatically, instead of just the whole email address?
please stop this and give us wild card blocking like *@*.de
