My SafeSenders list also doesn't work as expected.
When I add email to the list I still get the annoying the "Attachments, pictures and links in this message have been blocked because the sender isn't in your Safe Senders list."
From a software developer's perspective, getting the senders email address and checking it against a user defined "safe list" is something a heavily hangover-ed recent graduate of mediocre university/college could do, but apparently for billion dollar IT company this is proving to be quite a challenge.

When putting in "safe senders" in the junk email settings if the base email address has a period "." in the senders portion of the address you get an error that states:
email address or domain is not formatted properly. I have many friends that their corporate emails contain periods in this format firstname.lastname@somedomain.com -

Apparently others had issues for a while to. It's now November. Per your response in August, issue should be fixed "in the next month or so". For a company as big as yours, this is a bit embarrassing that it's taking this long.
It takes too much work to sort through emails after you've spent countless ours 'saving' emails to 'safe senders' and marking junk only to have your saved senders end up in junk, etc.
I'm forwrading my emails to Gmail now. Thanks for your service.

As many others have mentioned, spam that is obviously spam and many times phishing emails does not get caught by the filters and goes to my inbox. On the other side of the equation, I have entered a safe sender for Scott's Cheap Flights but their emails keep going to my junk folder now. I also had a Lyft ride receipt go to junk email. I'd add them to my Safe senders as well, but it obviously doesn't help. Please fix these items as they are crucial.

Add to safe list does not work when the sender has multiple addresses. E.g. I got an email from noreplyclubclas@clasohlson.com but when I'm trying to add it to my safe list it's trying to add bounce@store.clasohlson.com so in practice you won't be able to add the sender to the safe list.

Stop removing my subscribed emails! When I report all the **** pills, *****, and phishing emails, do NOT then forward the title of one of my emails I have purposely subscribed to (such as stat updates for my website) and delete that email just to send me one of your BS "acknowledgment" emails. If you're that grateful over receiving my reports, you won't delete emails from people on my safe sender list.

This is one of those ongoing bugs that causes so much inconvenience. Imagine the millions of people in the world right now fumbling through and repeatedly adding the same email to "Safe Senders", repeatedly flagging the same email as "Not Junk", only to find the same senders in the junk mail later on, Then browsing the web looking for answers. It's a burden on the global economy.

Please increase the limit of safe senders. Also, when adding a safe sender, it never tells me if I am over the limit. I would prefer to have more control over what is junk, but that goes contrary to popular opinion. Your junk mail process has no way of knowing what is really junk to me. I would like to flag certain email addresses and domains as junk and have them deleted and don't block an email address automatically.

I agree completely with comments made by others that Safe Senders is definitely broken. In addition to adding to Safe Senders, I've also created corresponding rules, to no avail.
This isn't the first time there has been issues with Safe Senders. No offense, Outlook Team, but this is getting very tiresome, particularly when watching for an important email and finding it in the Junk folder.

If I designate an e-mail in my junk mail folder as safe, could it automatically be added to my safe senders list vice me having to go into the options and do so manually?

I am unable to add to the safe senders list. Messages that were coming from the site I want to add mysteriously stopped appearing in early July. since this is my work scheduling site - I need to get these messages!!
Help directions were NO help. I have "added" those sites multiple times but they do not appear on the list no matter what I try.

postmaster@hotmail.com did not send my e-mail because the recipient was not in my safe sender list. The help screen was no help in telling me how to add to the list.
