Folders unread email counts do not update after reading emails.
If I have some unread emails in my inbox, and then read them, the panel on the left still indicates there are unread emails. This seems to be a bug.

Stop and Re-Start "Windows Search" service. This worked for me

Inbox counter updates only after switching to another folder and back. This gives the false impression that I have more unread emails when in reality I don't. Please make the counter update right after an email is read (or marked read/unread).

The user experience is really annoying. The unread count on the list of folders constantly gets out of sync with what is actually happening in the folders themselves. When creating a rule it often gets stuck on the "Creating Rule" pop up, then not applying the rule, which is probably just a refresh of the inbox issue. The "Keep me signed in" checkbox has not worked for years. Having LastPass makes that less painful, but still, having to click "Sign In" then "Next" twice EVERY time is annoying.

Marking emails as read doesn't update the unread count right away

What happen to the website. Items are not refreshing like they did. It will state that I have x unread e-mails but there are none in the folder. I refresh the folder and they import in.
Also while reviewing e-mails the count does not go down until you click on another folder then it refreshes. -

I also have this issue, it is quite annoying. A refresh sets the count right.

When I go through my email using the arrows in the top bar, the number of unread emails (displayed next to the folder name in the left sidebar), does not update right away. This is unfortunate because I like to have an idea of how many emails I still have left when going though them.
I use the online outlook.live.com on Chrome.

The number of (unread) messages per folder in the left pane updates very slowly after deletion from Junk/reading Inbox. This is confusing, it used to be immediate.

Number of unread emails in folders doesn't always update.
New UI has more bugs than Windows 10 updates. -

"Remove from favorites" star covers up number of unread emails. Annoying as ****. Also, number of unread doesn't update immediately. I have to click on another folder then go back to the one I was working in to get it to update. I'm using Firefox and will never use Edge due to other issues, so don't try to sell me on that. FIX THE BASIC PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO ADD FLASHY NEW STUFF!

I have the new version of Outlook but it has an error. It's ridiculous... once you have opened an email the total number of unread emails in each folder doesn't got down. Eg i have 6 unread emails in my "PP Connections" folder. I open the latest one but when I've finished reading it, the total number of unread emails still reads.. "6".

New email marker is not clearing out after reading or deleting an email.
