Deleted items re-appearing
Getting really sixk of deleting emails only to have them reappear multiple times.

Hey all, wanted to provide an update here. It seems like some people are having an issue where the deleted items are causing the mailbox to hit the storage limit. Please select all messages in deleted items by clicking the circle check mark next to Deleted Items. Then choose “Empty folder”. This should delete all items and free up storage in your mailbox. If you are having trouble sending emails because of a storage limit, this should help
If you are having other issues, please fill out this form and we’ll try to see what’s going on: https://forms.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR3M5kvKXLUxLg5HHvJDXsGlUMTkyUVdRNjlQV1c5UThZWVhORE04WjJUSS4u

I've had this problem for weeks. Emails I delete or move to folder just immediately pop back into the Inbox and I have to delete/move them a second time. Sometimes the Outlook server is just plain unresponsive. I googled around and saw an article that claimed I had a corrupted system and that I needed to delete and recreate a file buried in my computer. I don't think so. I just did a fresh clean install on my PC a week ago. This problem existed before the clean install and it persists after. It's not my computer. It's Outlook's problem. Waiting for a fix...

Deleted emails keep reappearing. I have deleted from the inbox, from the search bar, from a folder and tried emptying my deleted folder. They just bounce right back in. I have been talking to support for over a week now and 'they are trying to resolve this issue'. However, looking at previous comments it seems this has been an issue for a while! It is making managing my emails and my business extremely difficult. I would have thought that from the amount of previous comments that this needs to be addressed as a critical problem and a resolution needs to be found immediately.

I am deleting emails from my accounts that link to my hotmail and they reappear within minutes. They show in the 'deleted' items as well as the 'inbox' that I am using hotmail to upload the messages.
The hotmail inbox works fine. It's just the accounts that I sync with. -

SOLVED FIX!!!!!
IF YOUR STORAGE IS FULL:
After you delete the items needed, you need to go into Deleted Items folder, sort items by size, then highlight and delete items 10 at a time clicking Delete button.Empty folder button option will not work when you are above your limit!
Once you are back in your limit you can use empty folder again.

My wife was experiencing the same issue. Exceeded storage quota. Performed the following:
1. Deleted unwanted e-mails
2. Selected the option to Empty folder from the menu
3. Outlook, after a few seconds, displayed the Deleted Items folder empty
4. After a couple of minutes all e-mails reappeared in the Deleted Items folderFollowed instructions provided and issue was resolved.
Thanks

I am not a techie but I have also tried deleting my emails sent to my Deleted folder. The deleted folder stays empty and the problem seems to be coming from the emails I am trying to delete from my Other folder emails coming into Outlook.
Also, I am a single business owner and don't share a network with others in an office.
I finally decided to see if I could just make another Deleted folder and called it Deleted 2. I then moved all of my emails from the Other in Outlook and then I deleted them from there. So far it seems to work but I would love to know how to really fix this issue.
The deleted folder is empty (both of them...the one that comes with Outlook and the one I created).
I then forwarded an email to myself to see if it would be delivered. It was very quickly. I also wrote a new email and sent it to my outlook mail. It quickly was sent and received.
Please email me on how to correctly fix this issue. Thank you!

I resorted by size and individually deleted the largest and immediately emptied the deleted folder over and over but they are still reappearing in my unread files.

I had a user with this exact same problem. What worked for me was turning off cache mode. That is as far as I have gotten as of now. We will be rebuilding the OST as the next step to getting it working with cached mode.

If you delete emails one by one or in chunks of, say, 5, until your storage limit goes below your maximum, you should then be able to use the delete all/empty function. I did this and it's finally worked!!

It a bug when you are over quota. If you are over quota by a little the email will reappear. You must be a little under quota for the emails to delete. This worked for me.
Sort your mail by size with the larger email at the top using the Filter button. Delete one by one and continue to check your storage under settings (Type Storage in the search box). Click on storage. If the storage line is red you will continue to have the messages reappear. Once you delete messages one by one and the line turns blue you should be able to delete 1000s of message at a time. Until the line turns blue chances are the Bug of the messages reappearing will continue to happen.
In short, if you storage line is blue you should not have a problem. If your storage line is red you will run into what many have run into the messages continuing to appear after deleting.

I had a user with this issue and the fix for him was pretty easy. Under "Account Settings" click "Change" and then on the first window edit the Root Folder Path setting. Make it Inbox The folder will refresh and then deleted items should start going to trash as expected.

I have bee trying to clean my email for the past 3 months or so, and the Deleted folder never actually deletes the items. I have missed important emails and it has cost me greatly with my employer, because I never received an important email since my storage is full and I cannot delete anything. What are we going to do about this??? I've been using this email since 2012, I cannot just change it now.

Still happening to me today. My storage is full so I went to empty the Junk folder. 1345 messages were sent to the trash. The never leave the junk folder, they reappear within seconds. When I go to trash and empty the trash folder, they disappear and then come back in a few seconds. Talk about annoying...

My company is also having this issue with some inboxes in our enterprise-level subscription. We just started seeing it last week.
