Infinite scroll makes it impossible to get to old emails
Previous iterations of outlook.com have used pagination or viewport scrolling to allow me to accurately jump to any point in the middle of my inbox. The new layout, however, uses infinite scrolling, meaning that if I want to view a message more than a few days old, I have to scroll to the bottom, wait for a few messages to load, scroll to the bottom, wait for more messages to load, ad infinitum.
In fact, I can't any way in the new inbox of jumping to a historical email. If I can remember that I received an email at the beginning of last month, I don't seem to have any way of jumping right to it - previously I could just scroll to the right point or go to the right page.
Please consider adding back in either pagination or viewport scrolling, as infinite scroll is not a suitable technique for an email inbox.
Thanks for your feedback! We recommend that you use Search to find older emails.
If you click in the search bar, on the right (next to the search icon) you will see a dropdown menu that says “All folders”.
Click on this menu, and then select the date range that you want to search in. Once you’ve applied this date range, you can search within just those dates to see your emails.
I'm about to lose my mind!! I work online and I get thousands of emails, I click on select all, and then unselect the ones that I want. Well, now as I get towards the bottom, it scrolls all the way to the top by ITSELF, which makes me lose my spot. TODAY, it unselected them ALL and now I have to start over. I guess I'm going to have to find a new email service, because I don't have time for this! It's always something with Outlook. When I block something it always comes back too. So frustrated! I've been with this email service for 10+ years.

I agree ... I admit that I have not weeded out messages as diligently as I should have, but I liked the old system much better where I could jump to a particular page. Sorry but this is just one of several things I don't like about the new format.

I can't scroll down anymore in the reception box messages page and access my older messages. It won't stay put.
ASSOLUTAMENTE DA CORREGGERE!!!
- Selezione elementi -
Grazie
It has been over 3 weeks.....almost a month & the geniuses from OUTLOOK have not been able to FIX the **** the created. Nevertheless they have the balls to send everyone a "BONE" telling us that YES...we heard the issues...we added this & that....you can do this & that....all in beautiful colors but the reality is that they were blowing up smoke to distract everyone of us from this mess. NOTHING has been fixed! ANY message they send us is simply a distraction. It's hard to believe that these OUTLOOK/Microsoft - for all matters given - are making millions from many of us pay subscribers while we have to pay the price of incompetence. It cost me about $200 per hour wasted due to this "***** up"....it takes me 3 hours to do what I used to do in 20 minutes....how is Microsoft going to respond to this? I know what to do but I will do it directly with Microsoft...later!
Regardless...it's totally unacceptable their irresponsibility on this matter. Many thousands...no doubt millions are having problems while Microsoft/Outlook continues "jerking off " over their own laurels & the misfortune of all of us subscribers.
Think about it....almost a month & NOTHING has been done to remedy the issues....Nothing!
We need these issues solve NOW ...not by Christmas (What Year?)
Fire all the jerks who created this mess (to kiss *** & to get a medal-no doubt) and hire or even freelance a couple of Russians Kids...they will take care of all issues in no time. Just a couple of kids Vs. an entire 15 Microsoft/Outlook crew.
I can't jump to a date and now I can't keep scrolling....I need to see my messages in Inbox and Sent....please put these options as a chose to choose from in settings....this is sooooo frustrating

I go to click on an email to read and it just keeps scrolling and scrolling. It is terrible. Plz go back to old way.

I can't stand the infinite scroll. What happened to being able to delete messages one page at a time? If I click the box to select the emails on that page, I only want to delete those on that page, not my entire inbox. Please go back to the way it was.
the jump back scrolling is very very frustrating

1. Sender's email IP address cannot be identified until the email has been opened exposing you when opening junk emails to accidently accessing links which may cause security issues and scams. Whereas the previous version allowed IP addresses to be identified from the email list without opening the mail.
2. Scrolling email content can no longer be performed using the UP or DOWN buttons - only by use of the slider bar.
3. Email contents list takes up too much screen view whereas the previous version was more compact allowing easier scanning and prioritising of emails to be viewed.

This is infuriating when trying to get old emails...one of the reasons I often switch back to non-Beta.
I HATE THIS FEATURE.

Are you going to fix the problem of not being able to use the arrow key to scroll down a message. Why the **** did you stop this. Ya think we all wanna hold our mouse all day long to do anything. What moron came up with this idea as "great" .... fix it ....
