Infinite scroll makes it impossible to get to old emails
Previous iterations of outlook.com have used pagination or viewport scrolling to allow me to accurately jump to any point in the middle of my inbox. The new layout, however, uses infinite scrolling, meaning that if I want to view a message more than a few days old, I have to scroll to the bottom, wait for a few messages to load, scroll to the bottom, wait for more messages to load, ad infinitum.
In fact, I can't any way in the new inbox of jumping to a historical email. If I can remember that I received an email at the beginning of last month, I don't seem to have any way of jumping right to it - previously I could just scroll to the right point or go to the right page.
Please consider adding back in either pagination or viewport scrolling, as infinite scroll is not a suitable technique for an email inbox.
Thanks for your feedback! We recommend that you use Search to find older emails.
If you click in the search bar, on the right (next to the search icon) you will see a dropdown menu that says “All folders”.
Click on this menu, and then select the date range that you want to search in. Once you’ve applied this date range, you can search within just those dates to see your emails.

I agree with Sam's experience and don't see why it is flagged inappropriate. Where are all my old emails in my inbox??????I need them.
I'm finding it very difficult to delete my emails in bulk, it's a slow and painful wait for emails to selected. It has been this way since the email.
My suggestion is to go back to putting numbers at the bottom of the screen so we can quickly click back a few pages or even years to find what we're looking for. Right now I have no idea how to go back to last year's emails and I still can't get an answer to this very simple question!

One of the reasons I turned off beta when I had the option was because the inbox wouldn't display all emails I had in it if there were too many. There was no indication that there may be a second page to go to either. When I'd toggle back to the old version, all my emails in my inbox would be visible.
This morning I had another incident where some emails were not visible, and to be honest, I'm not sure if it's still happening.
The contents of my inbox displayed x number of emails, with a particular email showing as the oldest at the bottom of the list. When I deleted two more recent emails then scrolled to the bottom of my inbox, two olders emails now displayed at the bottom of the list that were not visible moments prior.
It seems like the default view sometimes limits the number of emails shown and there's indication that this is the case.
PLEASE LET ME REVERT BACK TO THE OLD VERSION... this is the fifth bug I am reporting on since this **** new version went fully live. I would really prefer if I could see and manage all my emails... I don't know which ones are currently unviewable that I need to address without moving some into alternate folders first.
Another thing that is terrible about this new look is that I can't scroll all the way down to the end of my messages. Scrolling all the way down only gets you to a few days ago. Then you have to keep doing it. This is terrible. I want my inbox changed back immediately. Please.
I need help. I can't reach my older emails by scrolling, even if I hold on to the bottom of my scroll bar!
I honestly considered a step backwards the fact that they eliminated the option of dividing the number of messages by "pages" since it made it much easier and organized to keep the content clean and accessible to older messages
Honestly considered a backspace that has the ability to divide the amount of messages by "pages" as it made it much easier and organized to keep content clean and accessible to older messages

The continuous scroll is annoying & down right awful. The continuous scroll wastes my time. Please bring back pages.
All email over the course of years, thousands, appear on one, single page. How can I scroll through these? The tiniest move of the mouse moves through months of email. The email should display on pages of ~20 email per page. The page number can be selected at the bottom of the page. This way, we can scroll through a page at a time and be able to find our way back to an email or time period relatively easily.
THANK YOU FOR UPDATING THE OUTLOOK, IT IS TERRIBLE, I HAVE TO SCROLL WHOLE DOWN IF I WANT TO CHECK MY 2016 EMAILS IN GENERAL AND THERE IS NO OPTION OF NEXT PAGE INSTEAD. HORRIBLE!

In the old version, I could hit the all button and it would ONLY select the message in my actual preview pane, plus or minus a few. So that if I had 50 new messages I wanted to delete at once, I didn't have to individually select them, I could choose all twice and get rid of them while STILL keeping the other, older messages that i've left in my inbox. I don't file everything, so this "pane" focused selection in bulk was key for me. Now if I select all, it literally does it ALL, not just new message or those visible. That was the dealbreaker. Please return to old!

In the other email version, I could remove old emails a page at a time. I'd like to delete anything older than 6 months that I have not specifically saved.
I want to control how many junk mails I delete at a time instead of having to go through all 700 junk messages at one sitting. I am not always able to go through all of them. The beta will not let me delete a few at a time. It's all or nothing. Do Not Like That!!!

Please bring pagination back.

Yes this! I want to only have it select the emails on the screen. The old version makes it easy to delete multiple emails more quickly.

I agree, I would much rather have pages, instead of the infinite scrolling, or at least give us the option to have either one.
give option to scroll or pages

Agreed! Discrete pages instead of infinite scroll please!
Infinite Scroll has no business - anywhere.
It makes it harder to find messages.
It constantly refreshes, causing lag to any activity.
A few months ago hundreds of comments asked for Pagination to come back - at least as an option.
Mysteriously those comments disappeared !
Others sites can give users options - e.g. 20, 50, 100 messages/comments.
