Shift delete to permanently delete email
John Clark commented
Shift-delete does not work with this new Outlook.com. I prefer to shift-delete useless or junk messages while others I want to go to the trash in case I need to retrieve them.

Why was I forced into this update?
How do I get the classic view back?
Now when I move a message to another folder, it disappears...I have to log out and in to see it.
Also where has the option to permanently delete a message by holding down the shift key gone?
Please bring back the ability to permanently delete straight from my inbox by using shift+delete.

I also want to delete permanently and it doesn't let you
how do I get rid of the items that I have deleted. I don't want to recover them I WANT THEM GONE
How do I permanetely empty my deleted items, and my junk items?

Permanent Delete. Previously you were able to use the Shift delete key which would permanently delete selected emails, now they go into the delete folder from which you have to delete to remove.
