edit subject line on received email
Old versions, you could edit the subject line of received emails. Now you can't. This feature was very useful streamlining digital file retention. Is this going to be revisited in future versions?
I did not know that we could do this in the old version :o
Please re add this feature. It is quite annoying to search for a specific email when there are 10 or so of them which have the same subject... (we can thank brand's unclear title... :'D)
Either way, how come this suggestion only have these few votes ???
It would be great if recipients could edit the received email subject as well as the message body whose Sensitivity was marked as Private. Currently recipients are only able to edit the message body. We expect that we would be able to edit the subject for the Private email by double-clicking the e-mail and going to Edit Message under Actions in the Move ribbon.

In Outlook 2007 you could edit the title of incoming e-mails to group them against persons, dates or subjects. In the new outlook you don't appear able to do this. i.e. If I want to retitle an incoming e-mail to "HD In 2020.03.20 Travel details"
Office365.com does not have the ability to CHANGE SUBJECT LINE. I have searched and searched and the instructions either don't apply or DO NOT WORK. I need to be able to change the Subject field on Incoming Messages, so that they work for me to organize them..
i often buy tickets to events & i pin each of the emails i receive that contain the tickets. but for all of them the subject line will be "your tickets are attached" or "ticket purchase confirmation". i have to go into the email to see which show that is the email for. it'd be great to be able to change the subject line of received emails (e.g. to the show name of that email confirmation/tickets)

I want to change the title of "subject" to my outgoing message that I send to someone's reply to an earlier message. It is simplistic to think topics don't change in a conversation & me as the initiator might like to emphasize something else in my communication. Outlook forces me to create a new message to change topics, that is short-sighted
I need edit the subject of some messages...is it possible? How Have i to do it?

Allow the user to change an email title, not just on a forwarded or replied to message, but on any message. There are instances where we want to keep emails to refer back to or re-read, but the title is not apparent to what the email content is. In some outlook programs there's a green circle called "Edit Message" that will allow the user to edit contents of the message as well as the title for the user to add to "Customize quick access contents of the toolbar." I wish my MSN Outlook had this feature. Thank-you!

Sometimes editing email content is useful too. Most often adding in comments which will remind yourself of relevant thoughts when the email is reviewed later.
Anyone any idea of email clients that let you do this?
It would be nice to be able to select and copy the subject line of mails.

Would love to have the option to change the subject line of an e-mail when I move it to a folder to save it. Sometimes it is very difficult to find the right e-mail because the subject line the sender used is vague or unclear.
As per my Community Question, there are a couple of suggested answers - one of which is to post here, so I'm adding my vote to yours!!
Subject line modifications: Logging into my mail today I found the new "look" with a message stating that it was thanks to "our" suggestions and feedback that the changes were made (no more Beta button, etc.) but one thing that I find has not changed is with regards to the subject line. Most times I'd like to change the subject lines of the mails I receive for easier searches in the archives. So...when will this option be available?

another complaint about the new system: doesn't allow change to the subject line - which is sometimes really helpful to keep the email string on task!
The new outlook beta is not intuitive... I'm trying to reply to an email and change/add to the subject line to be something I can search later. I am unable to modify the subject line like I used to.
